Summary: | While the landscapes of the urban fringes in France are depreciated, the notion of urban lisière (edge) became pervasive for two decades in the field of urban planning and design. It is proposed here to analyze on three different neighboorhoods of the Territory of the West coast in the Reunion Island at first the urban planning uses of the aforementioned notion through the master plans and the operational projects, and then the materiality of interfaces made by the inhabitants and the users. The tension between both is questioned and gone deeper into from both concepts of « political landscape » and « vernacular landscape » borrowed to J. B. Jackson. At last, this is a good prerequisite for thinking the governance modalities that would integrate the two ways of intervening (or dealing with space) on space. |
