Summary: | Background. The study is devoted to the problem of semantic features of introductory constructions (hereinafter referred to as IC). Currently, we are considering the synthesis of the main and introductory sentences with a single complex syntactic construction, in which the introductory sentence is semantically and grammatically connected to the main sentence as an organizing center. Since introductory constructions have additional semantic features and are sometimes able to influence with their help the general meaning of a newly formed utterance, it seems appropriate to consider their functions and the reasons for their use by the author of the utterance.
The article substantiates the uniqueness of semantic relations between the components of the structure, characterized by a specific functional feature and a feature of the internal form of semantic relations.
The aim of the study is defined as the identification of specific features of the introductory construction that can disrupt the structure of the actualized utterance and express additional communicative intentions of the author.
Materials and methods. The research is based on comparative and descriptive methods. The research material was a continuous selection of examples of works of art by French and German authors.
Results. As a result of the observation of introductory constructions, it was concluded that IC can be considered as an attempt by the author to clarify his information, his desire for detail, explanation, which leads to a complication of the syntactic structure. However, the author's attempt to correct the expression of thought facilitates the perception of the utterance, which leads to a simplification of the semantic structure of the utterance. The modal specificity of IC can then be considered as a reflection of the speaker's particular intentions, his pragmatic orientation depending on the situation created by the new semantic construction. |
