Summary: | The archaeological excavation of the site “la Côte” in Contrexéville, led in 1988 by Le Cercle d’études locales de Contrexéville, revealed some of the vestiges of a rural settlement and in particular a cellar burnt down between the end of the 2nd c. and the first third of the 3rd c. AD. The fire sealed a set of pottery and tools, including a complete harrow. Identified tools certainly constitute a considerable component of the iron equipment of this rural settlement and allow us to discuss the representativeness of this archaeological discovery. |
