| Summary: | Abstract The question of what processes can take place without conscious awareness has generated extensive research. Yet there is still no consensus regarding the extent and scope of unconscious processing, and past research abounds with conflicting results. A possible reason for this lack of consensus is the diversity of methods in the field, as the methodological choices might influence the results. Thus far, such possible influence of methods, measures, and analyses has not been systematically investigated and mapped. Here, we present the UnconTrust database for studies of unconscious processing focusing on two major domains – semantic and attentional processing. The database allows researchers to explore potential influences and obtain a bird’s eye view on the field with respect to these domains. Currently, the database includes information about the methods and findings of 426 experiments (though notably, the data collected in these experiments is not included). The database is also presented as an interactive website. |
