| description | Wind energy, as a typical intermittent energy source, presents multiple challenges such as low damping, weak inertia, insufficient capacity for frequency and voltage support. These issues pose significant challenges to the stable operation of power systems, particularly in scenarios involving a substantial connection to the grid, highlighting the uncertainty surrounding wind power's role as a potential primary power source. To address these challenges, this paper proposes an innovative stability solution for the grid connection of wind power - the "One Wind Turbine (WT) - One Energy Storage (ES)" system. This system aims to effectively smooth power and voltage fluctuations through the synergetic operation of energy storage and wind turbines. When wind energy output significantly fluctuates, the energy storage device promptly responds by either supplementing or absorbing electric energy and delivering reactive power, thereby stabilizing the grid's supply-demand balance and enhancing grid-connection stability and reliability. To validate the practical application effect of this system, a dual verification approach that combines laboratory simulations with field prototype testing was employed, to fully integrate the on-site conditions of wind farms. The experimental results demonstrated that the "One WT-One ES" system effectively mitigated fluctuations in wind power output and improved grid stability, showcasing enhanced economic efficiency and technical feasibility, which opens up possibilities for the widespread adoption of wind energy in power grids. |
