Description
Summary:The Onvar (National Organizations for Agricultural and Rural Development) represent very original collective structures. Their aim is to improve integrated sustainable development of territories. A grid from institutional economics is applied to an original empirical material (evaluation report and surveys) for assessing territorial added value. It is shown that Onvar’s local projects bring added value in terms of intersectoral coordination and partnerships between Onvar (with a still strong path of dependence for this last dimension). Conversely, coordination with other major stakeholders in agricultural and rural development (consular chambers, technical institutes) remains weak. The consideration of agroecology is also modest.
