Summary: | The polymorphism of the allotypes Gm and Km in human immunoglobulins was analyzed in a Berber population in the High Atlas of Morocco. It has been compared to the data from 18 other African populations (including six Berber and two Touareg) and two European populations (French and Basque). All the subjects are typed for G1m (1, 2, 3, 17), G2m (23), G3m (5, 6, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 21, 24, 28) and Km (1). Results show a relative homogeneity of the Berber populations (with about 20 % of sub-Saharan haplotypes). It is interesting to note that in the genetic structure of Touaregs from Algeria (Issequamarenes) there is a higher frequency of sub-Saharan haplotypes. |
