description This article is based on the observation that French geography has little regard for the issue of nuclear risk, particularly in the field of environmental studies, which are nevertheless inclined to address the issue of risks. He will therefore try to explain why there is very little work on this issue in geography and will outline some ideas for a study of the nuclear risk. Reflections on the spatialization and territorialization of the nuclear risk will be developed. The latter will be treated as a political object in the sense that its very definition, as well as the meaning to be given to its "management", are the subject of conflicts between anti-nuclear militants and management circles. These analyses are based on field practice in the Channel department and a qualitative method (semi-directive interviews with a variety of actors and field observations.
