Summary:An optimizatiopn design method of low noise gear transmission parameters is developed by using the genetic algorithem. Weighted functions based on engagement shock velocity and recess shock velosity are selected as object functions. Restain functions are the familiar restrain functions in normal gear optimizatiopn design. The optimizatiopn algorithm successfully obtained similar results in comparison with the known results. It shows that the genetic algorithm is feasible in low noise gear transmission design.
