Description
Summary:In this work, I examine the relations between the inside and the outside of prisons. First, through the short narratives telling the stories of three women who experienced the imprisonment of a family member, I try to give visibility to certain societal dynamics rooted in urban territories, which structure themselves in close connection with prison institutions. Then, by drawing the contours of a network of communicating vessels connecting the inside and the outside of prisons, I try to highlight the importance, for the very survival and preservation of the Sao Paulo prison system, of the flows of people, objects, and information circulating through it.
