Description
Summary:This article questions the notion of an unified Fair trade and shows the various approaches of the actors specialized in this trade exchange. Having summarized the history of the movement, the author underlines the structural indecision of Fair trade, pulled between its social ideals and the realities of the market. Several limits and ambiguities of the application of Fair trade are recorded, in the social, political, environmental and economic fields. To conclude, we underline the superiority of the economic approach in the thought about the development process by the actors working in Fair trade. We also stress the importance of the authorities to balance the World commercial exchanges.
