Summary: | Due to their importance and function, dams, embankments and similar hydrotechnical facilities require constant maintenance, which, among other things, involves checking and monitoring their mechanical condition. Geophysical surveys do not damage the existing condition of such objects, they are quick and cheap, and they provide important information about zones of instability, places of increased water saturation, the presence of cracks and, in general, about unfavorable conditions that threaten the safety and functionality of dams and embankments. The application of geophysical methods in combination with geotechnical research is one of the most effective ways of defining the current state of dams, embankments, etc. This paper presents the results of geophysical and geotechnical investigations, the goal of which was to define the current state of the dam at the Drenovo reservoir near Prnjavor, Bosnia and Herzegovina. |
