Description
Summary:Aim: The aim of the study was to determine the perceptions of nurses, who have a direct impact on service quality and measurement of service quality in the health sector, on quality in health. Method: The population of the descriptive and cross-sectional study consisted of 560 nurses working in Oncology Hospital within a city hospital and the sample consisted of 256 nurses who accepted to participate in the study by random sampling without sample selection. The data were collected using the 'Data Collection Form for Nurses' and 'Quality Perception Scale'. Results: The mean total score of the Quality Perception Scale of the nurses participating in the study was 67.00 (SD=17.53). The highest mean score was found in the 'Institutional Benefits' sub-dimension and the lowest mean score was found in the 'Human Resources Utilization' sub-dimension. Significant differences were found with the gender, marital status, the clinic where the nurses worked, the status of receiving training on quality and the type of training received on quality. Conclusion: In the study, it was determined that the quality perception of nurses was high. It is thought that the results of this study revealing the quality perception of nurses will contribute to quality practices. It is recommended that in-service trainings related to quality be provided to change nurses' perspectives on quality in health and to increase their perception of quality.
