Childhood contact with social services, self-harm and suicidal or self-harm ideation in young adulthood: a population-wide record-linkage study
Published 2025-01-01“…Conclusions Understanding the magnitude of childhood adversity amongst adults that present to EDs with self-harm or ideation may inform clinicians’ understanding and therapeutic decision-making. Whilst EDs provide an important setting in which to administer brief interventions, a multi-agency approach is required to reduce self-harm/ideation in young adults that had contact with social services in childhood. …”

Th1/Th2 cytokines and ICAM–1 levels post-liver transplant do not predict early rejection
Published 2000-01-01“…Levels of IFN-γ, IL–4 and their ratios did not correlate with rejection or immunosuppressive therapy. Thus, Th1/Th2 cytokine monitoring during the first week post-transplant does not predict early rejection and immunosuppressive therapy is the predominant factor affecting ICAM and sIL–2R levels after liver transplantation.…”

Hopf Bifurcation and Global Periodic Solutions in a Predator-Prey System with Michaelis-Menten Type Functional Response and Two Delays
Published 2014-01-01“…We focus on the case with two unequal and non-zero delays present in the model, study the local stability of the equilibria and the existence of Hopf bifurcation, and then obtain explicit formulas to determine the properties of Hopf bifurcation by using the normal form method and center manifold theorem. Special attention is paid to the global continuation of local Hopf bifurcation when the delays τ1≠τ2.…”

Aerobic Granular Sludge for Lead Ion Adsorption and Desorption
Published 2023-01-01“…The Pb2+ adsorption by aerobic granular sludge (AGS) and the ammonium salt desorption are investigated, which aims to provide technical support for the treatment of wastewater from ionic rare earth mines. The influence of Pb2+ concentration and adsorption time on the adsorption performance is explored by the single-factor experiment. Then, the Pb2+ adsorption capacity and rate of AGS are studied by the thermodynamic model and kinetic model. Finally, ammonium chloride with a concentration of 0.1~2.0 mol/L is employed to desorb AGS.When the initial Pb2+ concentration in wastewater is less than 80 mg/L,the adsorption efficiency is close to 100%.During the first 60 min of the adsorption, the concentration of Pb2+ decreases rapidly, but the decreasing trend gradually slows down after the first 60 min.The Pb2+ (20~1 000 mg/L) adsorption by AGS (2 690 mg/L) is in line with the Langmuir model (R2 equals 0.998,and the saturated adsorption capacity is 55.37 mg/g) and the pseudo-second-order kinetic model (R2= 0.999).The adsorption efficiency of AGS is close to 100% for the first time and decreases to 38.2% for the fifth time. The desorption efficiency is 78.5% for the first time and declines to 39.9% for the fifth time. After five rounds of adsorption and desorption, the granulation rate of AGS is still above 97%,which indicates that AGS has the potential for repeated adsorption of Pb2+.…”
