The Neglected Creatures of Forests: Wild Bees by Yasemin Güler

    Published 2018-12-01
“…This pressure, which is directly or indirectly applied to the forests, such as the conversion of forest areas into agricultural areas, forest fires and interventions to water resources, leads to deterioration of plant associations and therefore to changes in forest fauna elements. Considering the habitat needs of wild bees in their efforts to improve forest areas that are damaged due to the mutualistic relationship between crops and bees, will help the ecosystem to recover more quickly. …”

FINANCING INNOVATION ACTIVITY IN UKRAINE: REALITIES AND PERSPECTIVES by Nataliia Marynenko, Iryna Fedyshyn, Natalia Garmatiy, Iryna Kramar

    Published 2019-05-01
“…The correlation between the influence of the total amount of expenditures for financing innovation activity of industrial enterprises and gross domestic product of Ukraine in actual prices is calculated and forecasting of these expenditures by applying the theory of Markov chains is carried out. The research on the basis of correlation-regression analysis between the total amount of expenditures for financing innovation activity of industrial enterprises and gross domestic product of Ukraine in actual prices for the period of 2013-2017 made it possible to establish a sufficiently strong correlation between the indicators (the correlation coefficient is 1), which indicates that the positive dynamics of the increase in the total amount of expenditures for financing innovation activity of industrial enterprises will lead to a positive dynamics of Ukraine’s gross domestic product in actual prices. …”

Exosomes and their distinct integrins transfer the characteristics of oxaliplatin- and 5-FU-resistant behaviors in colorectal cancer cells by Zeynab Vakili-Ghartavol, Hoda Deli, Amir Shadboorestan, Roxana Sahebnasagh, Elahe Motevaseli, Mohammad Hossein Ghahremani

    Published 2025-02-01
“…Conclusion Our findings reveal that, despite discrepancies between cellular integrin patterns and cellular behaviors, the levels of exosomal ITGβ3, ITGαv, or ITGβ4 could serve as potential diagnostic and therapeutic markers for resistance to oxaliplatin and 5-FU in future cancer treatments.…”

Stock Plant Production and Management Basics for Small Greenhouse Businesses by James L. Gibson, Christopher B. Cerveny

    Published 2005-12-01
“… Vegetative propagation is an important component of ornamental plant production, because noteworthy characteristics such as flower color or leaf variegation remain true to type from the stock plant, unlike the varied results achieved through seedling propagation. Therefore, maintaining good stock or “mother plants” is critical for success down the road. …”

A New Hybrid EDTA–Zirconium Phosphate Cation-Exchanger: Synthesis, Characterization and Adsorption Behaviour for Environmental Monitoring by S.A. Nabi, Mu. Naushad, Rani Bushra

    Published 2009-05-01
“…EDTA–zirconium phosphate has been synthesized as a new amorphous hybrid cation-exchanger by the combination of the inorganic ion-exchanger zirconium phosphate and EDTA, thereby providing a new class of organic–inorganic hybrid ion-exchanger with better mechanical and granular properties, a good ion-exchange capacity (2.40 mequiv/g dry exchanger for Na + ), good reproducibility, and a higher stability and selectivity towards heavy metal ions. …”

Neural activity responsiveness by maturation of inhibition underlying critical period plasticity by Ibuki Matsumoto, Sou Nobukawa, Sou Nobukawa, Sou Nobukawa, Sou Nobukawa, Takashi Kanamaru, Takashi Kanamaru, Yusuke Sakemi, Yusuke Sakemi, Nina Sviridova, Nina Sviridova, Tomoki Kurikawa, Nobuhiko Wagatsuma, Kazuyuki Aihara, Kazuyuki Aihara

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Accumulating evidence indicates that the maturation of inhibitory circuits, such as gamma-aminobutyric acid and parvalbumin-positive interneurons, plays a crucial role in CPs and contributes to generating gamma oscillations. A previous theory of the CP mechanism suggested that the maturation of inhibition suppresses internally driven spontaneous activity and enables synaptic plasticity to respond to external stimuli. …”
