Quantifying the impact of surgical teams on each stage of the operating room process
Published 2024-10-01“…The primary circulating nurse was also found to be significant for all eight process times.DiscussionThe key findings of this study include the following. (1) It is crucial to segment the OR process into smaller, more homogeneous stages to more accurately assess the underlying sources of variability. (2) Variability in the aggregate quantity of OR time appears to mostly reflect the variability in procedure duration, which is a subinterval of OR time. (3) Primary surgeon has a larger effect on OR efficiency than previously reported in the literature and is an important factor throughout the entire OR process. (4) Primary circulating nurse is significant for all stages of the OR process, albeit their effect is small.…”

Electrical and Financial Impacts of Inverter Clipping on Oversized Bifacial Photovoltaic Systems
Published 2024-11-01“…Three colors of ground cover were also examined to compare the performance of bifacial modules under different albedo reflective properties. The results indicated that the white ground in winter leads to the highest bifacial gain (13.1%) and daily DC efficiency (22.2%) due to the combination of high reflectivity with low solar angle giving maximum upward reflection of direct sunlight. …”

Multifactor task allocation problem in wireless sensor and actuator networks
Published 2017-10-01“…Task allocation is an essential part of many military applications of WSAN such as intelligent minefield. The key problem of task allocation decision in these systems for the optimal scheme on task allocation is how to obtain the node-target assignment.Combing with the factors of target’s parameters and node’s own status, the various influence factors of task efficiency were analyzed and the positive and negative indicators were processed by range normalization method separately. The linear-weighted task efficiency function was proposed in the applications of WSAN such as intelligent minefield. It can be utilized as the evaluation index of assignment schemes since it reflected the integrated impact of target’s threat and node’s value on the system more comprehensively.Task efficiency function can be constructed flexibly based on the demand of different multifactor task allocation application. The essence of the problem was how to make node-target assignment to achieve the maximum task efficiency of the whole system. This problem turned into assignment problem and can be solved. Finally,an application was implemented to demonstrate this scheme. The results show that the model is suitable for small-scale multifactor task allocation problem in intelligent minefield system.…”

Does the trade of medical products contribute to promoting human development?—An empirical analysis based on data from China and RCEP countries
Published 2025-08-01“…BackgroundAs the RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) Agreement deepens, the role of medical product trade in safeguarding regional public health security and promoting economic development has become increasingly prominent.MethodsBased on data from 2004 to 2023, this study employs the stochastic frontier gravity model and benchmark regression model to explore the impact of China’s medical product export efficiency on the development indices of RCEP countries.ResultsThe findings are as follows: (1) China’s medical product exports to RCEP countries exhibit simultaneous scale expansion, structural differentiation, and market concentration, with ASEAN, Japan, and South Korea as core markets and mid-to-low-end products dominating the export structure; (2) Trade efficiency evolution reflects dual mechanisms of institutional environment and technological capabilities, where governance levels and health system soundness optimize efficiency, while excessive liberalization and tax burdens increase friction costs; (3) Enhanced export efficiency indirectly promotes human development in RCEP countries by strengthening basic health service coverage, forming a “trade-health-development” transmission mechanism.ConclusionTo enhance export efficiency and achieve synergistic development, we propose: (1) For policymakers: Deepen institutional coordination and establish a “trade-health” collaborative governance framework to amplify public health dividends; (2) For exporters: Implement a tiered market strategy and strengthen technological innovation to enhance industrial resilience.…”
