COMPLEX GEOLOGICAL–GEOPHYSICAL 3D MODEL OF THE CRUST IN THE SOUTHEASTERN FENNOSCANDIAN SHIELD: NATURE OF DENSITY LAYERING OF THE CRUST AND THE CRUST–MANTLE BOUNDARY by V. N. Glaznev, M. V. Mints, O. M. Muravina, A. B. Raevsky, L. G. Osipenko

    Published 2015-09-01
“…In this case, the crust–mantle boundary is determined by quantitative proportions of the rocks that underwent eclogitization or escaped this process and by corresponding density and velocity values. (5) High compaction of rocks in the crust under lithostatic loading cannot be explained by «simple» concepts of metamorphism and/or rock compaction, which are based on laboratory studies of rock samples and mathematical simulations; this is an evidence of the existence of additional, quite strong mechanisms providing for reversible changes of the rocks.…”

Evidencias empíricas de regularidades estadísticas y leyes de potencia en los genomas de Arabidopsis thaliana, Oriza sativa y Mus musculus Empirical evidences of statistical regula... by Martha I Almanza P., Karina López-López, Pedro A Moreno, Carlos E Téllez T.

    Published 2010-07-01
“…These findings suggest that, first, the genome is self-organized in the same way in the chromosomes independently of the size or the number of genes being contained; second, so the chromosomes as their constituent elements: genes, exones and intrones, have evolved all together. The study points out that the power laws have a buffer roll in the biological variation laws and provide DNA sequences organization quantitative measurements which are defining the identity of the genome. …”

We descriptively analyzed quantitative data on knowledge and practices related to domestic and sexualized violence (the most common forms of VAW).Results: Over 90 % of participants worked in areas of high priority to addressing VAW (e.g., mental health and addictions), yet only 35 % reported that addressing domestic or sexualized violence was part of their team's goals. …”
