A new method to improve 5G coverage of urban grid roads by Yejiang ZHANG, Jie CHEN, Jian HU, Xiaokang YANG, Yun LU, Teng LIANG

    Published 2022-12-01
“…Urban grid road is an important use scenario for mobile communication users.Compared with other static scenes, UE mobility on the road leads to relatively poor customer perception. The traditional urban grid road test optimization has some pain points, such as incomplete regulation, low optimization efficiency, repeated work orders, no focus and so on.A new method to improve 5G coverage of urban grid roads was proposed. The proposed method introduces the concept of problem circle, realizes the effective aggregation of sporadic test problem points, and uses“aggregation degree” and “repetition degree” to quantitatively identify the priority of test problems.By introducing the concepts of “ideal azimuth” and “appropriate cell”, the method of the optimal coverage cell of the problem circle was proposed, which can effectively output the optimization scheme of the problem circle. This method has been deployed in the current network and effectively supports the test and optimization of urban grid roads. The 5G coverage rate has increased from 89.95% to 98.86%.…”

On the Properties of Reachability, Observability, Controllability, and Constructibility of Discrete-Time Positive Time-Invariant Linear Systems with Aperiodic Choice of the Samplin... by M. De la Sen

    Published 2007-01-01
“…Controllability and constructibility hold globally only asymptotically under close conditions to the above ones guaranteeing reachability/observability provided that the matrix of dynamics of the continuous-time system, required to be a Metzler matrix for the system's positivity, is furthermore a stability matrix while they hold in finite time only for regions excluding the zero vector of the first orthant of the state space or output space, respectively. Some related properties can be deduced for continuous-time systems and for piecewise constant discrete-time ones from the above general framework.…”

Outage performance analysis for multi-UAV relay systems with threshold-based DF protocol by Zhenlei DAN, Xuewen WU, Jian OUYANG, Xiaoxiao WANG, Chenwei GU

    Published 2020-08-01
“…The unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) relay system has become a hot topic as an effective method for the remote transmission in wireless communications.By taking path loss into account,a relay cooperative transmission system model based on multiple UAVs was established firstly, and the maximum output signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the system with threshold-based decode-and-forward (DF) protocol was obtained. Then,by assuming that both the uplink and downlink experience Rician distribution, the closed-form expression for outage probability (OP) of the considered system with multiple UAVs was derived.Furthermore, the asymptotic OP formula at high SNR was also derived to show the diversity order and array gain of the considered system, which were convenient to reveal the effects of system parameters on the outage performance. Finally, the computer simulations verify the correctness of the theoretical analysis, and reveal the effect of the relay number, antenna number and the threshold on the system outage performance, thus the proposed scheme can provide guidance for the system design and application.…”

Exploring the nonlinear coded superposed modulation MISO visible light communication system by Zengyi XU, Wenqing NIU, Hui CHEN, Zhixue HE, Nan CHI

    Published 2022-09-01
“…The light-emitting diode (LED) based visible light multi-input single-output (MISO) system usually suffers from the nonlinearity in LED and its incoherent nature in emission.Adopting precoding would alleviate this limitation at comparatively lower cost.Existing researches usually apply the same coding scheme to all the channels. An asymmetric coding scheme was proposed, which nonlinearly encodes one of the two channels in a MISO system. This solution enlarges the dynamic range of the uncoded channel at the cost of a higher bit error ratio (BER) in the coded one. When the BER threshold is set at 3.8×10-3, the uncoded channel gains a dynamic range 30% larger than that of the coded one.If this solution is combined with flexible forward error correction redundancy, it would allow the system to adapt to varying channel condition while still maintaining the communication in both channels. This research would be beneficial in the study on indoor or underwater visible light communication (VLC) system.…”

Novel level shifter based physical unclonable function circuit design by Lijuan HAN, Lei QIAN, Enyi YAO, Xin LOU, Yuan CAO, Yanhua LIU

    Published 2021-04-01
“…Level shifters are widely used in low-power, multi-threshold integrated circuit chips.A novel physical unclonable function (PUF) design based on cross-coupled level shifter was proposed. In this work, a single switching transistor was inserted in the level shifter, which was the only overhead per response bit to change the operation mode of the cross-coupled level shifter from differential to common. The signature of the PUF was extracted while in common mode, by exploiting the uncertainty of the output voltage due to the difference of the switching time of the two PMOS in the cross-coupled network.Simulated with a standard 65 nm CMOS process, the results show the proposed PUF can produce a uniqueness of 49.11% and a reliability of 96.09% with the power supply voltage ranged from 1.0 V to 1.5 V and 95.31% with the temperature ranged from -20 ℃ to 100 ℃.The energy per bit is only 0.72 pJ at a high throughput of 20 Mbit/s (1.2 V, 27 ℃).…”
