    “…فرضت تطبیقات الویب 2.0 وخصوصًا الشبکات الاجتماعیة نفسها بشکل کبیر على حیاتنا الیومیة، ویستعان بها فی العدید من الأمور المهمة والمفیدة مثل التواصل العلمی والاجتماعی بین أعضاء هیئة التدریس والطلاب، وقد کان لها عظیم الأثر فی تطویر العلاقة العلمیة والمهنیة للعدید من الطلاب، واستخدام الشبکات الاجتماعیة فی أمور تعلیمیة صار شیئًا ضروریًا بالنسبة للمجتمعات العربیة وواقع یجب الاستفادة من جوانبه الحسنة ومحاولة غض البصر عن الجوانب السیئة لمثل هذه الشبکات الواسعة الانتشار، وفی هذا البحث تم عمل تجربة باستخدام شبکة الفیسبوک والأکثر انتشارًا وشعبیة بین الطلاب وغیرهم فی إعداد مجموعتین خاصتین بطالبات جامعة أم القرى کلیة العلوم الاجتماعیة قسم علم المعلومات فی مادتی التکشیف والاستخلاص ونظم استرجاع المعلومات یهدف للتواصل العملی والاجتماعی من خلالهما، وقد لاقت التجربة نجاحا واضحا من إقبال الطالبات على الاشتراک فی المجموعتین والاستفادة من تواصل عضوة هیئة التدریس معهن فی التکلیفات والتعلیمات المختلفة والأخبار وعناصر المحاضرات وقد اشتراک العدید من الطالبات فی وضع بعض الملاحظات والرد على الدکتورة والوصول إلى العدید من الأمور غیر الواضحة بالنسبة لهن. …”
