Chicago–Carnegie Hubble Program: A Multiwavelength Search for the Effects of Metallicity on the Cepheid Distance Scale. II. Theoretical Models and Synthetic Spectra by Barry F. Madore, Wendy L. Freedman, Kayla Owens

    Published 2025-01-01
“…The most interesting (and useful) result of this investigation is that from a close examination of the models, we have discovered infrared regions in Cepheid spectral energy distributions that allow for the simultaneous correction for extinction and metallicity differences by the judicious combination of only two filters: one in the near-infrared and one in the mid-infrared, the former centered at 1.2 μ m and the other centered at 3.6 μ m. Even more exciting and promising is the fact that both of these bands can be simultaneously observed in single exposures using the dual-channel imager, NIRCam on JWST.…”

Inter-individual variability in performance benefits from repeated sprint training in hypoxia and associated training parameters by Naoya Takei, Naoya Takei, Ryuji Muraki, Olivier Girard, Hideo Hatta

    Published 2025-04-01
“…Average SpO2 during training sessions correlated significantly with relative TW (r = 0.435, P = 0.008), indicating that participants with higher SpO2 performed more work during training. Relative TW was strongly correlated with performance improvement (r = 0.833, P < 0.001), suggesting that those who produced more work during training experienced greater performance gains. …”

Coherence Analysis for Vibration Monitoring Under High Variability Conditions: Constraints for Cultural Heritage Preventive Conservation by Claudia Pirrotta, Anna Maria Gueli, Carlo Trigona, Sebastiano Imposa

    Published 2025-04-01
“…Vibrational data were collected from a sensor network deployed at the Civil Museum of Castello Ursino (Catania, Italy), a site characterized by high structural complexity and variable visitor-induced vibrations. Results demonstrate that coherence analysis surpasses the limitations of traditional frequency identification techniques, with SCS and WC outperforming MSC in distinguishing resonance frequencies and providing a more stable and reliable frequency estimation. …”
