Effect of Laser Solution-Aging Process Parameters on the Hardness and Water Erosion Resistance of 17-4PH Stainless Steel
Published 2025-07-01“…To address the issues of the last-stage blades of steam turbines being susceptible to pitting, water erosion and even fracture, surface laser solution-aging strengthening treatment was carried out on 17-4PH precipitation-hardened stainless steel using a rectangular laser spot with dimensions of 22.0 mm×4.9 mm and a focal length of 400 mm.The microstructure, hardness and water erosion resistance of the laser solutionaging strengthened layer under different process parameters were examined and analyzed using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray diffractometer (XRD),microhardness tester and a water erosion test platform. Results showed that increasing the laser power or decreasing the scanning speed improved the hardness of the strengthened layer. In contrast, higher aging temperatures resulted in microstructural coarsening, which reduced the hardness of the strengthened layer. The experimental results indicated that the water erosion resistance of 17-4PH precipitation-hardened stainless steel after laser solution-aging strengthening was nearly 15 times higher than that of the 17-4PH steel substrate.…”

Effects of Micro - Arc Oxidation on Dimensional Accuracy and Properties of 6061 Aluminum Alloy Bush
Published 2021-06-01“…At present, there are few studies on the film structure of micro-arc oxidation film on aluminum alloy and the dimensional accuracy change of precision thin wall parts before and after micro-arc oxidation. The samples of 6061 aluminum alloy bushing(precision thin wall parts), used for the aircraft engine fuel control system accessory, were treated by four different micro-arc oxidation processes(A, B, C and D).The microstructure, composition and micro-hardness of micro-arc oxidation ceramic layer were detected and analyzed.Besides, the inner diameter, the cylindricity and the surface roughness of the inner hole before and after MAO were tested. Results showed that the micro-arc oxidation ceramic layer obtained by C and D processing parameters with special auxiliary equipment had excellent properties. The surface hardness could reach 900 HV,which was 6 times of that of 6061 aluminum alloy matrix material. The micro-arc oxidation ceramic layer significantly improved the wear resistance and service life of parts, at the same time met the strict requirement of dimensional precision. This study laid a foundation for the engineering application of aluminum alloy micro-arc oxidation process.…”

Preparation and Corrosion Resistance of Superhydrophobic Coating on AZ31 Magnesium Alloy
Published 2024-12-01“…The active properties, easy oxidation and poor corrosion resistance of AZ31 magnesium alloy have always been the biggest challenges in its practical application. In order to improve its corrosion resistance, reduce the corrosion rate and prolong its service life, a stable and corrosion-resistant aluminum phosphate-polymethyl methacrylate (AP/PMMA) superhydrophobic coating was prepared on the surface by impregnation method. The microstructure, chemical composition, phase composition and molecular structure of the coating were analyzed by scanning electron microscope (SEM),X-ray energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS),X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FTIR).Moreover, the hydrophobicity and corrosion resistance were tested by contact angle meter (CA), Tafel curve and EIS.Results showed that with the increase of immersion time, the contact angle (WCA) of the coating increased first and then decreased. The surface contact angle of the coating prepared by the 60 s immersion sample could reach 154.7 °, showing superhydrophobicity. The surface corrosion current density was 2.289 × 10-9 A/cm2, which was 4 orders of magnitude lower than that of the magnesium substrate. The corrosion potential was increased from-0.941 V to-0.735 V after polishing, indicating that the AP/PMMA superhydrophobic coating could effectively improve the corrosion resistance of AZ31 magnesium alloy.…”
