Stroke ICF Core Element Scale and Stroke Common Functional Scale: Association Studies by Qiao JIN, Xiaoyan YANG, Qijing REN

Published 2016-02-01
“…Objective:To investigate the correlation between Stroke ICF Core Element Scale and Stroke Common Functional Scale. Methods:Using Stroke ICF Core Element Scale, Fugl-Meyer Scale, Modified Barthel Index (MBI) to assess 50 cases of stroke patients, performing the correlation test with Pearson coefficient, Kappa value and Cronbach alpha coefficient to evaluate the validity, reliability and content consistency of the ICF Scale. Results:The Kappa values were between 0.676-0.958 (P<0.001), with a good test-retest reliability and inter-rater reliability, the evaluation outcomes of two raters had a better consistency; Cronbach alpha coefficient had a good consistency in body functions, activities, participation and the environmental factors. …”

Grip Strength Impairment and Neuropathic-Like Pain as Predictors of Functional Decline in Hand Osteoarthritis by Mathieu S, Fayet F, Salembien MH, Rodere M, Soubrier M, Tournadre A

Published 2025-04-01
“…Depression was significantly associated with all clinical parameters, except GS. Sixty HOA patients had neuropathic-like pain (56.0%); these were younger, had a higher FIHOA, and reported more night awakening and morning stiffness; however, C-reactive protein (CRP) levels were not different. Conclusion: Neuropathic-like pain and sarcopenia exacerbate functional decline in HOA, highlighting the need for targeted interventions beyond conventional analgesics. Keywords: hand osteoarthritis, neuropathic-like pain, grip strength, sarcopenia…”
