On the Collocation Method in Constructing a Solution to the Volterra Integral Equation of the Second Kind Using Chebyshev and Legendre Polynomials by O.V. Germider, V. N. Popov

    Published 2024-12-01
“…Using matrix and integral transformations, properties of finite sums of products of these polynomials and weight functions at the zeros of the corresponding polynomials with degree equal to the number of nodes, integral equations are reduced to systems of linear algebraic equations for unknown values of the sought functions at these points. …”

Construction of Comprehensive Hydrological and Meteorological Drought Index Based on Base Flow and Precipitation and Its Application in Weihe River by FAN Jingjing, SUN Xue, ZHOU Bin, LIU Dengfeng, LIU Chun, LIN Shuai, LI Yunyun

    Published 2022-01-01
“…,the comprehensive precipitation and base flow index (CPBI),is constructed by the Copula function. Then, the applicability of CPBI is discussed, and the drought characteristics of the Weihe River Basin are analyzed by this index. The results reveal that CPBI can capture both meteorological and hydrological drought events and comprehensively characterize their drought characteristics;CPBI has a downward trend on all scales, which indicates the drought is becoming more serious;upon the identification by the theory of runs,CPBI can more accurately reflect the severe drought situation of the Huaxian station of Weihe River and can better provide early drought warning;CPBI has variations, and the variation points on seasonal and annual scales are 1994,1993,1985,1999,and 1975.In conclusion,CPBI is an effective drought monitoring index for Weihe River and can provide a reference for early drought warning and response efforts in Weihe River.…”

A systematic review and meta-analysis of the relationship between subjective interoception and alexithymia: Implications for construct definitions and measurement. by Kristen Van Bael, Jessica Scarfo, Emra Suleyman, Jessica Katherveloo, Natasha Grimble, Michelle Ball

    Published 2024-01-01
“…Overall, results suggested that the association between self-reported interoception and alexithymia differs as a function of the interoceptive self-report. The review highlighted issues with construct definition and operationalisation and determined that existing interoceptive self-reports broadly capture maladaptive and adaptive sensing, attention, interpretation, and memory. …”

On regular variation of entire Dirichlet series by P. V. Filevych, O. B. Hrybel

    Published 2023-01-01
“…~Sheremeta proved that if $\omega(\lambda)<C(\rho)$, then the regular variation of the function $\ln\mu(\sigma,F)$ with index $\rho$ implies the regular variation of the function $\ln M(\sigma,F)$ with index $\rho$, and constructed examples of entire Dirichlet series $F$, for which $\ln\mu(\sigma,F)$ is a regularly varying function with index $\rho$, and $\ln M(\sigma,F)$ is not a regularly varying function with index $\rho$. …”

Process-based measures in high-stakes testing: practical implications for construct validity within military aviation selection by Joseph T. Coyne, Laura Jamison, Kaylin Strong, Ciara Sibley, Cyrus Foroughi, Sarah Melick

    Published 2025-08-01
“…Abstract This paper looks at how process-based spatial ability and attention measures taken within a high-stakes battery used to select pilots in the US Navy compare to lab-based measures of the same constructs. Process-based measures typically function by having individuals perform either a novel task or perform a task with novel stimuli. …”
