Research on the Combined Load-Bearing Mechanism of Deeply Buried Pressure Pipelines Under High Internal Water Pressure by LIU Yijie, ZHANG Xuhui, HUANG Bensheng, YANG Fengjie, YUAN Mingdao, XU Yunqian

    Published 2025-01-01
“…The mechanisms of load transfer and distribution within the pipeline's bearing system were elucidated, considering various influencing factors such as internal water pressure levels, interlayer gap between structural components, and the geological categories of the surrounding rock.MethodsThe bearing behavior of pressure pipes was simplified as a plane strain problem, and the stress and deformation fields were solved using the power series method of complex function theory. The core of this approach lied in determining the potential functions for the steel lining and surrounding rock layers, as well as the contact stresses between each structural layer. 1) Considering the presence of interlayer gap, the bearing process is divided into two stages: the free bearing stage and the joint bearing stage. …”

Gamma norm minimization based image denoising algorithm by Hongyan WANG, Tuo WANG, Mian PAN, Zumin WANG

    Published 2020-10-01
“…Focusing on the issue of rather poor denoising performance of the traditional kernel norm minimization based method caused by the biased approximation of kernel norm to rank function, based on the low-rank theory,a gamma norm minimization based image denoising algorithm was developed. The noisy image was firstly divided into some overlapping patches via the proposed algorithm, and then several non-local image patches most similar to the current image patch were sought adaptively based on the structural similarity index to form the similar image patch matrix.Subsequently, the non-convex gamma norm could be exploited to obtain unbiased approximation of the matrix rank function such that the low-rank denoising model could be constructed. Finally, the obtained low-rank denoising optimization issue could be tackled on the basis of singular value decomposition, and therefore the denoised image patches could be re-constructed as a denoised image.Simulation results demonstrate that, compared to the existing state-of-the-art PID,NLM,BM3D,NNM,WNNM,DnCNN and FFDNet algorithms, the developed method can eliminate Gaussian noise more considerably and retrieve the original image details rather precisely.…”

Phenotypic effects from the expression of a deregulated AtGAD1 transgene and GABA pathway suppression mutants in maize. by Rajani M S, Mohamed F Bedair, Hong Li, Stephen M G Duff

    Published 2021-01-01
“…Glutamate decarboxylase (GAD; EC 4.1.1.15) catalyzes the irreversible decarboxylation of glutamate to produce γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA); a ubiquitous non-protein amino acid involved in the regulation of several aspects of plant metabolism and physiology. To study the function of GAD and GABA in maize, we have; 1) introduced native and deregulated forms of AtGAD1 into maize with the intent of increasing the synthesis of GABA and 2) introduced constructs into maize designed to suppress the activity of several GABA shunt, GABA transport and GABA pathway genes. …”
