AI-powered simulation-based inference of a genuinely spatial-stochastic gene regulation model of early mouse embryogenesis. by Michael Alexander Ramirez Sierra, Thomas R Sokolowski

    Published 2024-11-01
“…Leveraging the power of Simulation-Based Inference (SBI) through the AI-driven Sequential Neural Posterior Estimation (SNPE) algorithm, we conduct a large-scale Bayesian inferential analysis to identify parameter sets that faithfully reproduce experimentally observed features of ICM specification. Our results reveal mechanistic insights into how the combined action of autocrine and paracrine FGF4 signaling coordinates stochastic gene expression at the cellular scale to achieve robust and reproducible ICM patterning at the tissue scale. …”

Potential evaluation of saline aquifers for the geological storage of carbon dioxide: A case study of saline aquifers in the Qian-5 member in northeastern Ordos Basin by Yan Li, Peng Li, Hong-jun Qu, Gui-wen Wang, Xiao-han Sun, Chang Ma, Tian-xing Yao

    Published 2024-01-01
“…This study calculated the technical control capacities of CO2 of the saline aquifers in the fifth member of the Shiqianfeng Formation (the Qian-5 member) based on the statistical analysis of the logging and the drilling and core data from more than 200 wells in the northeastern Ordos Basin, as well as the sedimentary facies, formation lithology, and saline aquifer development patterns of the Qian-5 member. The results show that (1) the reservoirs of saline aquifers in the Qian-5 member, which comprise distributary channel sand bodies of deltaic plains, feature low porosities and permeabilities; (2) The study area hosts three NNE-directed saline aquifer zones, where saline aquifers generally have a single-layer thickness of 3–8 m and a cumulative thickness of 8–24 m; (3) The saline aquifers of the Qian-5 member have a total technical control capacity of CO2 of 119.25 × 106 t. …”

PPIH Expression Correlates with Tumor Aggressiveness and Immune Dysregulation in Hepatocellular Carcinoma by Bei J, Sun Z, Fu R, Huang X, Huang J, Luo Y, Li Y, Chen Y, Wei Z

    Published 2024-12-01
“…Immune infiltration was analyzed via CIBERSORT and ssGSEA, while DNA methylation and somatic mutation analyses were performed using MExpress and “maftools”, respectively, alongside in vitro and in vivo experiments to assess PPIH’s functional roles. Results: Our findings indicated that PPIH is significantly upregulated in various cancer types, correlating with poor patient prognosis, increased somatic mutations, and altered gene methylation patterns. High PPIH levels were linked to enhanced T regulatory (Treg) cell infiltration and a decline in Th17 cell populations, impacting vital pathways related to DNA damage repair and tumor proliferation. …”

Precursor of Okhotsk blocking high in the cold vortex induced rainfall event over North China: a case study in July 2017 by Zhiqi Yan, Wanyi Sun, Congwen Zhu

    Published 2025-07-01
“…Our results show the CV is originated from 90º to 100ºE, caused by the upstream positive potential vorticity (PV) advection at 200 hPa. The WNPSH, featured by 30–90 day intraseasonal oscillation (ISO), transports moisture to North China, while OKBH characterized by 10–30 day ISO further transports moisture northward and establishes a downstream blocking pattern. …”
