Eigenvector biomarker for prediction of epileptogenic zones and surgical success from interictal data by Sayantika Roy, Armelle Varillas, Armelle Varillas, Emily A. Pereira, Patrick Myers, Patrick Myers, Golnoosh Kamali, Kristin M. Gunnarsdottir, Kristin M. Gunnarsdottir, Nathan E. Crone, Adam G. Rouse, Jennifer J. Cheng, Michael J. Boerwinkle, Sarah Wyckoff, Niravkumar Barot, Jorge González-Martínez, Joon Y. Kang, Sridevi V. Sarma, Sridevi V. Sarma

    Published 2025-05-01
“…To test this, we build patient-specific DNMs from interictal iEEG data collected from 65 patients treated across 6 centers. From each DNM, we compute the average leading eigenvectors and evaluate their potential as a biomarker to accurately predict EZ and surgical success. Results:Our findings show the ability of the leading eigenvector to accurately predict EZ (average accuracy 66.81% ± 0.19%) and surgical success (average accuracy 71.9% ± 0.22%) with data from 65 patients across 6 centers from 5 min of data, which we show is comparable with the current method of localizing the EZ over several weeks.Discussion:This eigenvector biomarker has the potential to assist clinicians in localizing the EZ quickly and thus increase surgical success in patients with MRE, resulting in an improvement in patient care and quality of life.…”

Automatic Traffic Data Collection under Varying Lighting and Temperature Conditions in Multimodal Environments: Thermal versus Visible Spectrum Video-Based Systems by Ting Fu, Joshua Stipancic, Sohail Zangenehpour, Luis Miranda-Moreno, Nicolas Saunier

    Published 2017-01-01
“…Although new camera technologies, including thermal video sensors, may improve the performance of digital video-based sensors, their performance under various conditions has rarely been evaluated at multimodal facilities. The purpose of this research is to integrate existing computer vision methods for automated data collection and evaluate the detection, classification, and speed measurement performance of thermal video sensors under varying lighting and temperature conditions. …”

Single-Stage Continent Reconstruction of Composite Pericommissural Defects Using a Combination of Pacman-Style Free Radial Forearm Flaps and Modified Elastic Musculomucosal Flaps by T.M. Balakrishnan, M. Aruna, Prethee Martina Christabel, J. Jaganmohan

    Published 2022-06-01
“…At the end of the follow-up period, they were assessed using the objective institutional scoring system by two independent observers and final score was computed for each patient. Results The average score obtained at the end of the follow-up period was 11.5 (p = 0.035) using the institutional assessment scoring system, which evaluated both the overall aesthesis and function of the neo-commissure and modiolus. …”
