Genetic Variants of UGP2 and FBP2 in the Glycolysis Pathway Independently Predict Survival of Patients with HBV-Related Hepatocellular Carcinoma
Published 2025-06-01“…However, the effect of genetic variants in glycolysis pathway genes in survival of patients with hepatitis B virus-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HBV-HCC) remains unclear. Methods: We employed multivariable Cox proportional hazards regression analyses to estimate associations between genetic variants in 240 glycolysis pathway genes and overall survival (OS) of 866 patients with HBV-HCC, and we also used false positive report probability for multiple testing corrections. Results: We found that UGP2 rs4293553 G allele was significantly associated with a better OS of HBV-HCC patients [hazards ratio (HR) = 0.73, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 0.62– 0.86, P < 0.001], and that FBP2 rs635087 G allele was significantly associated with a worse OS in these patients (HR = 1.38, 95% CI = 1.18– 1.61, P < 0.001). …”

IL-17A as a Key Mediator of Pulmonary-Intestinal Immune Interactions in a Mouse Model of Asthma and Colitis
Published 2025-06-01“…While IL-17A has been implicated in both asthma and colitis independently, its role in coordinating systemic immune responses across tissue compartments is not well defined. Methods: In this study, we developed a combined house dust mite-induced asthma model and dextran sulfate sodium-induced colitis model to investigate the role of IL-17A in driving inflammation in both the lungs and the intestines. Results: Our findings demonstrate that IL-17A neutralization markedly reduced airway and intestinal inflammation, attenuated mucus hypersecretion, downregulated pro-inflammatory cytokine expression, and alleviated colitis severity. …”

Radiation-Based Multi-Modal Therapy Combining with Immunotherapy to Develop a Vaccine-Like Effective Treatment for Triple-Negative Breast Cancer
Published 2025-06-01“…Current treatments like chemotherapy and immunotherapy face challenges due to chemotherapy side effects, limited immunotherapy applicability, and TNBC’s immunosuppressive microenvironment.Purpose: To achieve a more effective treatment for TNBC, a novel therapeutic strategy has been developed, which uses X-ray excited photodynamic therapy (X-PDT) to activate the tumor immune microenvironment following with the immunotherapy of Anti-CTLA4.Methods: Base on the 4T1 tumor mouse model, this study initially investigated the regulatory effects of X-PDT on the tumor immune microenvironment. …”
