Enhancement of prefrontal functional connectivity under the influence of concurrent physical load during mental tasks
Published 2024-12-01“…The results of different channel pairs suggested that the functional connectivity between the right dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and the bilateral orbital frontal cortex was significantly enhanced under the combined effects of high physical and high cognitive load.DiscussionFrom the perspective of prefrontal functional connectivity, this study supports measurable effects of physical factor on operators’ mental load. …”

A big data approach to modelling urban population density functions: from monocentricity to polycentricity
Published 2025-04-01“…This study uses big data of individual vehicle trips in Tampa, Florida, to define the precise population and employment distribution locations, and then aggregates them with uniform areal units such as squares, triangles, and hexagons to examine and mitigate the scale and zonal effects. Both monocentric and polycentric models are employed in the analysis of urban population density functions. …”

Relationship Between Socioeconomic Status and Depression in Older Adults: The Roles of Cognitive Function and Sleep Quality
Published 2025-06-01“…Mediating and moderating effects were analyzed using R 4.2.2 and SPSS 25.0 software. Results: The results showed that SES was negatively associated with depressive symptoms (β=− 0.234, p< 0.001) and positively associated with cognitive function (β=0.566, p< 0.001) after controlling for covariates; cognitive function played a partial mediating role between SES and depressive symptoms, and the indirect effect was β=− 0.09 (95% CI: − 0.129~ − 0.06, p< 0.001), accounting for 38.5% of the total effect; and sleep quality positively moderated the mediating effect of cognitive function on relationship between SES and depressive symptoms (βsleep ×cognition =− 0.015, p< 0.05).Conclusion: Depressive symptoms in community-dwelling older adults are affected by their SES and cognitive function. …”
