Combinatorial Fc modifications for complementary antibody functionality by Yannic C. Bartsch, Nicholas E. Webb, Eleanor Burgess, Jaewon Kang, Douglas A. Lauffenburger, Boris D. Julg

    Published 2025-12-01
“…This suggests that the strategic selection of complementary Fc modifications can enhance both functional activity and breadth. Furthermore, while some combinations of Fc variants displayed additive functional effects, others were detrimental, suggesting that the functional outcome of Fc mutations is not easily predicted. …”

Impact of maintenance hemodialysis on cognitive function of patients by LIN Yan, HE Hua

    Published 2016-01-01
“…Objective To investigate the impact of maintenance hemodialysis(MHD) on cognitive function of patients with chronic renal failure(CRF).Methods Sixty-five cases of CRF undergoing MHD were recruited between January 2014 to August 2015 from Department of Nephrology, the People’s Hospital of Boertala Zhou. The effect of MDH on cognitive function in patients with CRF was observed. The cognitive function was assessed by the Montreal Cognitive Scale(MoCA) before and after treatment Sixty-five patients were divided into normal cognition(NC) group(n = 22),and cognitive impairment(CD group(n = 43) according to the MoCA scores. Results The average scores of MoCA in MHD patients were(21.8 ± 4.4),which were significantly lower than those in the control group. After MHD,the MoCA scores in NC group(23.2 ± 1.7) and CI group(18.7 ± 3.6) were significantly lower than those before MHD[(26.5 ± 1.2) and(21.3 ± 2.9) respectively].There was significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).The multivariate analysis revealed that low education level, older age,low hemoglobin levels and a long duration of dialysis were factors influencing cognitive dysfunction of MHD patients with the differences being statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions MHD can influence cognitive function in patients with CRF,and education level, age, hemoglobin levels and duration of dialysis may be the risk factors.…”
