Stellar Population Properties in the Stellar Streams around SPRC047 by Seppo Laine, David Martínez-Delgado, Kristi A. Webb, Mohammad Akhlaghi, Roberto Baena-Gallé, Sanjaya Paudel, Michael Stein, Denis Erkal

    Published 2024-01-01
“…Due to the very low surface brightness of the stream, we have performed a deconvolution with a Richardson–Lucy–type algorithm of the low spatial resolution 3.6 μ m IRAC image, thereby reducing the effect of the point-spread function aliased emission from the bright edge-on central galaxy at the locations of our three stream segments. Our SED fits that used several different star formation (SF) history priors, from an exponentially decaying SF burst to continuous SF, indicate that the age–metallicity–dust degeneracy is not resolved, most likely because of inadequate wavelength coverage and low signal-to-noise ratios of the low surface brightness features. …”

More is not always better: delta-downscaling climate model outputs from 30 to 5 min resolution has minimal impact on coherence with Late Quaternary proxies by L. Timbrell, L. Timbrell, J. Blinkhorn, J. Blinkhorn, M. Colucci, M. Colucci, M. Leonardi, M. Leonardi, M. Chevalier, A. V. Pozzi, M. Grove, E. Scerri, E. Scerri, E. Scerri, A. Manica

    Published 2025-07-01
“…On the other hand, models have the potential to afford more extensive and standardized geographic coverage of multiple bioclimatic variables. A key decision when using model output is the appropriate geographic resolution to adopt; models are coarse scale, in the order of several arc degrees, and so their outputs are usually downscaled to a higher resolution. …”

Improving image reconstruction to quantify dynamic whole-body PET/CT: Q.Clear versus OSEM by Sam Springer, Jeremy Basset-Sagarminaga, Tineke van de Weijer, Vera B. Schrauwen-Hinderling, Walter H. Backes, Roel Wierts

    Published 2025-03-01
“…Abstract Background The introduction of PET systems featuring increased count rate sensitivity has resulted in the development of dynamic whole-body PET acquisition protocols to assess 18F-FDG uptake rate ( $${K}_{i}$$ K i ) using 18F-FDG PET/CT. However, in short-axis field-of-view (SAFOV) PET/CT systems, multiple bed positions are required per time frame to achieve whole-body coverage. …”
