Response Patterns and Characterization of Tributary Hydrodynamic Characteristics to Mainstream Backwater Effect—A Case Study of the Shiguan River
Published 2024-11-01“…The results and discussion are as follows: 1) Under the dynamic backwater effect of the mainstream, the backwater intensity parameter, which integrates changes in water surface slopes and cross-sectional flow velocities, can comprehensively characterize the degree of backwater effect on a particular cross-section. The use of envelopes to handle the scattered water level-discharge data at the confluence allows for coverage of various water level-discharge relationship combinations under different confluence scenarios of the mainstream and tributary. 2) Under different combinations of tributary inflow and mainstream water levels, the water level of the Shiguan River rises with an increase in tributary discharge and further elevates upstream from the confluence with the increase in mainstream water levels; the water surface slope decreases with an increase in tributary discharge and further decreases with an increase in mainstream water levels; the cross-sectional flow velocity increases with tributary discharge and decreases with an increase in mainstream water levels. 3) The degree and extent of the backwater effect on the tributary are primarily influenced by factors such as tributary inflow, mainstream water levels, and proximity to the confluence. …”

Local recurrence and radionecrosis after single-isocenter multiple targets stereotactic radiotherapy for brain metastases
Published 2025-05-01“…Abstract Stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) is frequently used to treat brain metastases (BMs). The single-isocenter for multiple targets (SIMT) technique allows for faster treatment of large numbers of BMs, but may adversely affect planning target volume (PTV) coverage due to possible increased positioning uncertainties with an increased isocenter to tumor distance (ITD). …”

Assessing the Health and Economic Outcomes of a 9-Valent HPV Vaccination Program in the United Kingdom
Published 2022-06-01“…Health outcomes were measured in quality-adjusted life-years (QALYs), and the summary results were presented as incremental cost-effectiveness ratios (£/QALY gained) when comparing UV4V with UV9V. # Results Using the same vaccine coverage for both programs, the total cumulative cases of HPV-related health outcomes tracked over the 100-year horizon indicated that the relative number of cases averted (UV9V vs UV4V) ranged from 4% (anal male cancers and deaths) to 56% (cervical intraepithelial neoplasia [CIN1]). …”
