Development of spontaneous and sensory evoked network activity in rodent cerebral cortex in vivo by Elena Nigi, Jenq-Wei Yang, Heiko J. Luhmann, Anne Sinning

    Published 2025-08-01
“…Next we discuss the functional role of transient cortical structures and cell types in the generation of early activity patterns and in the activity-dependent maturation of local and large-scale cortical networks. …”

Ultrastructural Complexity of Nuclear Components During Early Apoptotic Phases in Breast Cancer Cells by Christian Castelli, Gabriele A. Losa

    Published 2001-01-01
“…This confirms that the morphological reorganization imputable to a loss of structural complexity (reduced FD) occurs in the early stage of apoptosis, is accompanied by the inhibition of distinct enzymatic events and precedes the onset of conventional cellular markers, which can only be detected during the active phases of the apoptotic process.…”

Various Statistical Methods in Use for Evaluating Human Malignant Gastric Specimens by Ventzeslav Enchev, Mircho Vukov

    Published 1998-01-01
“…Paraffin‐embedded tissue sections (thickness 4–5µm) prepared as consecutive hematoxylin‐eosin‐stained slides were morphometrically measured by a rotation of a graduated eyepiece‐micrometer; thus, we obtained the minor and major axes’ lengths of the elliptic nuclear profiles and the minor and major caliper diameters of the corresponding cellular profiles. These four variables were used to determine the dynamic changes in quantitative features of human gastric lesions when passing from normal histological structures, through hyperplastic processes (chronic gastritis), gastric precancer (ulcers and polyps with or without malignancy) till the development of primary carcinomas and their corresponding lymphogeneous metastases. …”
