Phonological and orthographic processing during second language typing production of Chinese-English bilinguals
Published 2025-05-01“…Two basic issues in written production concern whether phonology influences the output of orthography and how language processes affect the motor execution. Previous studies conducted in the native language (L1) have provided evidence for handwriting production, but less is known about how phonology and orthography work in second language (L2) typing production, and whether their work would be modulated by L2 proficiency. …”

Language Experience Influences Sociolinguistic Development: The Role of Speaker Race and Language Attitudes on Bilingual and Monolingual Adults’ Accent Processing
Published 2024-10-01“…Speaker race by itself did not play a role in accent intelligibility and accentedness ratings; however, we found evidence that speaker race interacted with participants’ accent identification scores and attitudes toward non-native speakers, and these interactions differed as a function of language experience. Conclusions: Our results suggest that bilinguals’ sociolinguistic processing may be more in line with a bias-based model than monolinguals.…”

THE BASIC CONDITIONS FOR DEVELOPMENT OF MATHEMATICAL SPEECH OF STUDENTS IN THE PROCESS OF BILINGUAL EDUCATION
Published 2018-03-01“…Many teachers and methodologists note that children, especially at the first step of education and at the initial stage of the secondary school, often can not fully understand and precisely express in oral and written forms their thought and information which is presented in mathematical texts. In the process of mathematical education of the bilingual pupils of younger and middle school age studying at schools with teaching national (native for them) and Russian (state) languages, this task becomes complicated even more since children do not possess the so-called control mechanisms to switch from one language into another as well as speech and thought processes are generally operated in the native language. The aim of the present publication is to determine the main conditions for the development of the mathematical speech of the bilingual students.Methodology and research methods. …”
