Space use of polar bears (Ursus maritimus) in Davis Strait in relation to sea ice and harp seals (Pagophilus groenlandicus) by Larissa Thelin, Evan Richardson, Garry Stenson, Erik Hedlin, Andrew E. Derocher

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Polar bears (Ursus maritimus Phipps, 1774) rely on seals as their primary prey, yet predator–prey spatial relationships are poorly understood. We examined the spatial relationship between Davis Strait polar bears and harp seals (Pagophilus groenlandicus Erxleben, 1777), using satellite telemetry for both species. …”

A Method and Engineering Practice for a Fully Mechanized Caving Coalface to Rapidly Pass Through a Large Fault by Wei Zhang, Feili Yang, Jingyu Chang, Shengxun Zhao, Bin Xu, Jinyong Xiang

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Based on the occurrence characteristics of the F6 fault (maximum throw: 13.5 m) in the #3up1101 fully mechanized caving coalface at Gaozhuang Coal Mine, two different solutions allowing the coalface to pass through this fault were proposed, and the solution of pre-driven roadways with rock pillars was optimally determined. The main implementation steps of the method include designing the layout parameters of the pre-driven roadways, determining the width for rock pillars between the adjacent pre-driven roadways, construction of pre-driven roadways by smooth wall blasting, and controlling the surrounding rock deformation of the pre-driven roadways. …”

Soybean biochar as highly efficient adsorbent for ofloxacin from aqueous and CO2 from gaseous phase: Mathematical modelling and regeneration studies by Vaishnavi Gomase, Tejaswini Rathi, Aparna Muley, D. Saravanan, Ravin Jugade

    Published 2025-12-01
“…The maximum adsorption capacities (qm) at temperatures of 303 K, 313 K, and 323 K were determined to be 96.83 mg g−1, 147.56 mg g−1, and 201.82 mg g−1, respectively, as derived from the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Examination of CO2 sequestration at various temperatures demonstrated highest adsorption recorded at 273 K, reaching 49.96 mL g−1. …”
