Exploring Heat-Response Mechanisms of MicroRNAs Based on Microarray Data of Rice Post-meiosis Panicle
Published 2020-01-01“…Then, GO-Slim classification and functional identification of these 178 target genes showed that (1) miRNAs were mainly involved in a series of basic biological processes even under heat conditions; (2) some miRNAs might play important roles in the heat resistance (such as osa-miR164, osa-miR166, osa-miR169, osa-miR319, osa-miR390, osa-miR395, and osa-miR399); (3) osa-miR172 might play important roles in protecting the rice panicle under the heat stress, but osa-miR437, osa-miR418, osa-miR164, miR156, and miR529 might negatively affect rice fertility and panicle flower; and (4) osa-miR414 might inhibit the flowering gene expression by downregulation of LOC_Os 05g51830 to delay the heading of rice. Finally, a heat-induced miRNA-PPI (protein-protein interaction) network was constructed, and three miRNA coregulatory modules were discovered.…”

Investigation on the Impacts of COVID-19 Lockdown and Influencing Factors on Air Quality in Greater Bangkok, Thailand
Published 2021-01-01“…Even low traffic emissions, on their own, did not cause an absolute reduction in air pollution since there are several primary emission sources that dominate the air quality over Greater Bangkok. Finally, these findings highlight the impact of COVID-19 lockdown measures not only on air pollution levels but on their effects on air pollution characteristics, as well.…”

Psychiatric comorbidities in epilepsy: population co-occurrence, genetic correlations and causal effects
Published 2024-02-01“…We then used summary data from genome-wide association studies to investigate whether the identified observational associations could be attributed to a shared underlying genetic aetiology using cross-trait linkage disequilibrium score regression. Finally, we assessed the potential bidirectional relationships using two-sample Mendelian randomisation. Results In a cohort of 7 628 495 individuals, we found that almost half of the 94 435 individuals diagnosed with epilepsy were also diagnosed with a psychiatric condition in their lifetime (adjusted lifetime prevalence, 44.09%; 95% confidence interval (CI) 43.78% to 44.39%). …”

An integrated investigation of mitochondrial genes in COPD reveals the causal effect of NDUFS2 by regulating pulmonary macrophages
Published 2025-01-01“…Random forest (RF) analysis, least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression, and Mendelian Randomization (MR) analysis of hub MitoDEGs further nominated NDUFS2, CAT, and MRPL2 as causal MitoDEGs for COPD, whose predominate expressions in pulmonary macrophages were revealed by an independent single-cell transcriptomic dataset of COPD human lungs. Finally, NDUFS2 was evaluated as the top-ranked contributor to COPD in the nomogram model and its downregulation in pulmonary macrophages could result in pro-inflammatory secretion, enhanced intercellular communications, whereas depressed phagocytosis of macrophages as revealed by gene set variation analysis (GSVA) and cell-cell interaction (CCI) analysis of single-cell transcriptomic dataset of COPD human lungs, which was later confirmed in COPD mouse model and macrophage cell lines. …”
