Effects of melatonin, proline, and salicylic acid on seedling growth, photosynthetic activity, and leaf nutrients of sorghum under salt stress
Published 2024-03-01“…Considering all nutrients, MEL‐primed sorghum seeds had better macro‐ and micro‐nutrient uptake capacities than the H, SA, and P treatments under high soil salinity conditions. Finally, the present study showed that MEL‐induced improvement in salt tolerance in sorghum seedlings was related to enhanced nutritional status, photosynthetic activity, and biomass production in salinized areas.…”

Adaptive anomaly detection disruption prediction starting from first discharge on tokamak
Published 2025-01-01“…The threshold adaptive adjustment strategy addresses the challenge of selecting alarm thresholds on new devices where the validation set is lacking, ensuring that the alarm thresholds adapt to changes in the discharge scenario. Finally, the experiment transferring the model from J-TEXT to EAST exhibit that this method enables disruption prediction from the first shot on EAST, allowing the predictor to adapt to changes in the discharge scenario and maintain high prediction performance.…”

Oleanolic Acid Induces Differentiation of Neural Stem Cells to Neurons: An Involvement of Transcription Factor Nkx-2.5
Published 2015-01-01“…Through transcription factor binding site analyses of the upstream regulatory sequences of these genes, 87 genes were predicted to share a common motif for Nkx-2.5 binding. Finally, small interfering RNA (siRNA) methodology was used to silence Nkx-2.5 expression and found silence of Nkx-2.5 alone did not change the expression of TuJ-1 and the percentage of TuJ-1-positive cells. …”

Investigation on Nonlinear Flow Behavior through Rock Rough Fractures Based on Experiments and Proposed 3-Dimensional Numerical Simulation
Published 2020-01-01“…In addition, the expression of wall friction factor was derived, and relationship of f, Re, and relative roughness indicated that f increased with increasing fracture roughness considering the same aperture, resulting in nonlinear flow more easily, otherwise is not, showing that f could be used to describe the seepage condition and corresponding turning point. Finally, it can be seen from the numerical results that the nonlinearity of fluid flow is mainly caused by the formation of eddies at fracture intersections and the critical pressure gradient decreases with increasing angle. …”

β-Endorphin Mediates the Development and Instability of Atherosclerotic Plaques
Published 2020-01-01“…The μ-opioid receptor (OPRM1) was expressed in THP-1 monocytes, macrophages, HASMCs, HUVECs, and human aortic endothelial cells. β-Endorphin significantly increased THP-1 monocyte adhesion to HUVECs and induced upregulation of intercellular adhesion molecule-1, vascular cell adhesion molecule-1, and E-selectin via nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) and p38 phosphorylation in HUVECs. β-Endorphin significantly increased HUVEC proliferation and enhanced oxidized low-density lipoprotein-induced foam cell formation in macrophages. β-Endorphin also significantly shifted the macrophage phenotype to proinflammatory M1 rather than anti-inflammatory M2 via NF-κB phosphorylation during monocyte-macrophage differentiation and increased migration and apoptosis in association with c-jun-N-terminal kinase, p38, and NF-κB phosphorylation in HASMCs. …”

Asparagine endopeptidase regulates lysosome homeostasis via modulating endomembrane phosphoinositide composition
Published 2025-01-01“…Mechanically, by co-immunoprecipitation and in vitro enzymatic cleavage assays, we identified the regulatory subunit p85 of class IA PI3K phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K), as a substrate of AEP. Loss of AEP led to elevated endo/lysosomal PI3K activity and subsequent conversion of PtdIns(4,5)P2 (PIP2) to PtdIns(3,4,5)P3 (PIP3) on endo/lysosome membranes. …”
