SS-YOLO: A Lightweight Deep Learning Model Focused on Side-Scan Sonar Target Detection
Published 2025-01-01“…In addition, we add an adaptive scale spatial fusion (ASSF) module using 3D convolution to combine feature maps of different sizes, maximizing the extraction of invariant features across various scales. Finally, we use an improved multi-head self-attention (MHSA) mechanism in the detection head, replacing the original complex convolution structure, to enhance the model’s ability to focus on important features with low computational load. …”

Measuring the impact introducing NHS 111 online had on the NHS 111 telephone service and the wider NHS urgent care system: an observational study
Published 2022-07-01“…For advice to attend an emergency department or other urgent care treatment facility, the overall IRR per 1000 online contacts is 1.050 (95% CI: 1.010 to 1.092, p=0.014). And finally, for those advised to contact primary care, the overall IRR per 1000 online contacts is 1.051 (95% CI: 1.027 to 1.076, p<0.001).Conclusions It was found that the NHS 111 online service has little impact on the number of triaged and total calls, suggesting that the workload for the NHS 111 telephone service has not increased or decreased as a result of introducing NHS 111 online. …”

Causal Model of Aggression based on Personality Traits, Early Maladaptive Schema and Aggression: Mediating Role of Emotion Regulation Strategies
Published 2024-11-01“…In addition, the personality trait of agreeableness had a negative direct effect, while the schemas of abandonment, social isolation, failure, emotional inhibition, and entitlement had a positive direct effect on aggression. Finally, among the dimensions of personality traits—responsibility, agreeableness, extraversion, and flexibility—and the dimensions of early dysfunctional schemas—emotional deprivation, abandonment, distrust, shame and inferiority, emotional inhibition, and entitlement—these factors can indirectly influence aggression through cognitive emotion regulation strategies.Discussion and conclusion: In summary, it can be concluded that the interplay of personality trait variables, early dysfunctional schemas, and cognitive emotion regulation strategies significantly contributes to predicting adolescent aggression. …”

Combination Blockade of the IL6R/STAT-3 Axis with TIGIT and Its Impact on the Functional Activity of NK Cells against Prostate Cancer Cells
Published 2022-01-01“…Stt and Tcz induce a decrease in STAT-3 phosphorylation in the DU145 cells and, in turn, induce an increase of NKp46 and a decrease of TIGIT expression in NK-92 cells. Finally, the disruption of the IL6R/STAT-3 axis in prostate cancer cells and the blocking of TIGIT on NK-92 were observed to increase the cytotoxicity of NK-92 cells against DU145 cells through an increase in sFasL, granzyme A, granzyme B, and granulysin. …”

Factors influencing utilization of municipal solid waste compost among urban farmers in western Uganda
Published 2021-12-01“…Conclusions The findings call for government investment in policies aimed at increasing the level of utilization of the MSW compost by improving accessibility to soil conditioners, creating opportunities for maximizing household incomes, farmer-to-farmer experience sharing, dissemination of information through extension programmes and other innovative communication approaches, operationalization of farmers’ groups and introduction of subsidy schemes on the price of compost through operational tax waivers in urban areas of Uganda. Finally, to guarantee quality and to improve the adoption of compost generated at the CDM plants, there is a need for research to assess the quality of MSW compost, undertake a supply chain analysis and cost–benefit study and set a price commensurate with the quality, and develop guidelines and rates of application of the MSW compost.…”
