Biological embodiment of educational attainment and future risk of breast cancer: findings from a French prospective cohort
Published 2025-02-01“…We focused on biomarkers from several physiological systems examined individually, and jointly through a biological health score (BHS).Design Prospective cohort study.Setting This study, based on a subsample of the French E3N cohort, included women with biological data from four nested case–control studies.Participants The study included 3048 postmenopausal women (17% BC).Main outcome measures We first evaluated the association between educational attainment and each biomarker, separately (N=11) and by combining them into a BHS, indicative of an augmented biological health hazard when elevated. Finally, we explored the relationships between the socially patterned biomarkers and BHS, and risk of incident BC.Results Women with higher educational attainment exhibited a lower BHS in comparison to those with lower educational attainment (βhigh education=−0.21 (95% CI −0.42; 0.01), model 2). …”

Association between cardiometabolic index and risk of testosterone deficiency in adult men: a cross-sectional study
Published 2025-01-01“…After adjusting for all covariates, participants with higher CMI showed lower TT (β = -23.84, 95% CI: -33.94, -13.74, p < 0.0001) and a higher risk of TD (OR = 1.26, 95% CI: 1.08, 1.48, p = 0.01). When CMI was categorized into quartiles with Q1 as the reference, participants in Q4 exhibited significantly lower TT (β = -74.04, 95% CI: -106.01, -42.08, p < 0.0001) and a higher risk of TD (OR = 2.34, 95% CI: 1.18, 4.64, p = 0.02). …”

Electrical and Viscoelastic Parameters of Erythrocytes as a Part of Diagnostic Models for Differentiating Fatty Liver Disease of Mixed Genesis from Non-Alcoholic and Alcohol-Relate...
Published 2024-08-01“…Two indicators of red blood cells have been established that statistically significantly distinguish the mixed-genesis FLD from the AFLD (Volcano plot); these are the index of red blood cells destruction at a frequency of 5 ×105 Hz, which was higher with AFLD (p = 0.0007), and the capacity of cell membranes, the value of which prevailed in mixed-genesis FLD (p = 0.011). When distinguishing the mixed-genesis FLD from the AFLD, the combined model with the inclusion of three parameters of red blood cells, namely the index of red blood cells destruction at a frequency of 5 ×105 Hz, the capacity of erythrocyte membranes, and polarizability at a frequency of 106 Hz, has shown the highest levels of diagnostic accuracy, namely AUC = 0.751 (confidential interval: 0.611–0.908) with a sensitivity of 79.5 %, specificity of 74.7 %.Conclusion. …”

CHA2DS2-VASc Score Is Associated With Prognosis in Patients With Acute Ischemic Stroke Without Atrial Fibrillation
Published 2025-02-01“…Multivariate Cox regression models indicated that, compared with a CHA2DS2-VASc score of 0 or 1, the hazard ratio (HR) of MACE occurrence was 3.22 (95% CI, 1.93-5.37; P < .01) for a CHA2DS2-VASc score greater than 2 and 1.92 (95% CI, 1.24-2.98; P < .01) for a CHA2DS2-VASc score of 2. When included in the Cox regression model as a continuous variable, the CHA2DS2-VASc score remained strongly associated with higher risks of MACE (HR, 1.19 [95% CI, 1.11-1.26]; P < .01), all-cause mortality (HR, 1.14 [95% CI, 1.05-1.23]; P < .01), and recurrent stroke (HR, 1.15 [95% CI, 1.06-1.256]; P < .01). …”
