Increasing of Pulsed Laser Source Peak Power by Use of Ring Fiber-Optic Delay Line
Published 2019-06-01“…Two versions of laser systems based on the described method of beam combining are presented: using an optical combiner and an optical switch; using fiber welding instead of a combiner and an optical switch. The graphical dependence of the energy effectiveness on the number of circulations in ring fiber-optic delay line is obtained for both versions of laser systems. As a result of the analysis of the considered devices operation, it was shown that considered systems allow to obtain increasing the peak power of a laser pulse without increasing the power supply, also the system, that use welded fi instead of the optical combiner, has greater effi than system with optical combiner.…”

Guest Editorial: The Gig Economy and Women Workers in the Middle East
Published 2025-01-01“…It shows that online gig work is neither a crystallised nor monolithic dimension. Instead, platforms - in some instances - have become vectors of formalisation instead of leading only to informality, such as in the case of taxi driving app and home cooking/food delivery, where apps have enhanced more regulation as formality was not the norm before. …”

ESTIMATION OF ENERGY SECURITY OF AZERBAIJAN REPUBLIC WITH DUE ACCOUNT OF TENDENCY INFLUENCE ON INDICATORS’ CHANGES
Published 2014-02-01“…This paper describes a method for assessing the development of the energy security equation using the relationship indicators. It is shown that, instead of the eigenvalues of the diagonal indicators can use these indicators, the functional dependence on the time.…”

Iron deficiency and symptoms in women aged 20–49 years and relation to upper gastrointestinal and colon cancers
Published 2022-07-01“…Endoscopies for UGI or dysphagia symptoms rather than bidirectional endoscopy for ID yielded more gastric cancers (n=5 and n=4, respectively) with fewer procedures (3793 instead of 6627). Colonoscopies for LGI or rectal bleed instead of for ID would detect more colon cancers (n=19 and n=18) with about 40% of the procedures (=2793/6627).Conclusions UGI and colon cancers were rare in women of menstruating age and when controlled for anaemia were as common without as with ID. …”

Investigating the relationship between physical cognitive tasks and a social cognitive task in a wild bird
Published 2024-07-01“…The relatively few studies on non-primate animal species that do investigate the structure of cognition rarely include tasks assessing social cognition and focus instead on physical cognitive tasks. In this study, we tested 36 wild Western Australian magpies (Gymnorhina tibicen dorsalis) on a battery of three physical (associative learning, spatial memory, and numerical assessment) and one social (observational spatial memory) cognitive task, to investigate if cognition in this species fits a general cognitive factor model, or instead one of separate physical and social cognitive domains. …”

Novation and indemnity as ways to terminate an obligation
Published 2024-06-01“…Novation is primarily characterized by the fact that the conclusion of an agreement on a new obligation generally does not terminate the legal relationship of the parties, since instead of the initial obligation, the validity of which is terminated, a new obligation agreed upon by them arises, and therefore, a legal relationship between the creditor and the debtor continues At the same time, the transfer of the object of indemnity agreed upon by the parties instead of the fulfillment of the original obligation is aimed primarily at the liquidation of legal ties between the parties. …”

Sparse Codebook Model of Local Structures for Retrieval of Focal Liver Lesions Using Multiphase Medical Images
Published 2017-01-01“…This study investigates an improved codebook model for the fined-grained medical image representation with the following three advantages: (1) instead of SIFT, we exploit the local patch (structure) as the local descriptor, which can retain all detailed information and is more suitable for the fine-grained medical image applications; (2) in order to more accurately approximate any local descriptor in coding procedure, the sparse coding method, instead of K-means algorithm, is employed for codebook learning and coded vector calculation; (3) we evaluate retrieval performance of focal liver lesions (FLL) using multiphase computed tomography (CT) scans, in which the proposed codebook model is separately learned for each phase. …”
