You Take Care of the Drive, I Take Care of the Rule: A Traffic-Rule Awareness System Using Vehicular Sensors and Mobile Phones
Published 2012-12-01“…If vehicles have awareness of their behaviours, it is possible that traffic rules are able to regulate vehicles instead of drivers. There are three advantages of vehicle regulation: (1) without worrying about violations of traffic rules and searching for traffic signs, drivers can pay more attention on emergency situations, such as jaywalking. (2) Many traffic violations are due to attention distraction; machines do not have the attention issues; therefore they can provide good traffic-rule obeying. (3) New traffic rules can be spread and applied more quickly and effectively through the Internet or Vehicular Ad hoc NETworks (VANETs). …”

Effect of Intermediate Stiffeners on the Behaviors of Partially Concrete Encased Steel Beams
Published 2018-01-01“…Strengthened and weakened beam-to-column connections can be implemented in PE beams to enhance the ductility of the PE beams; with the details of both strengthened and weakened beam-to-column connections determined by bare steel shape instead of the whole section. In addition, the suggestions to prevent premature failure of weakened beam-to-column connection were provide.…”

Alignment-induced self-organization of autonomously steering microswimmers: Turbulence, clusters, vortices, and jets
Published 2025-02-01“…No global polar alignment emerges in both cases. Why Fuzzy Transform Is Efficient in Large-Scale Prediction Problems: A Theoretical Explanation
Published 2011-01-01“…In our previous papers, we have shown that similar quality large-scale prediction results can be obtained if, instead, we apply a much faster procedure—first average the inputs (by applying an appropriate fuzzy transform) and then use these averaged inputs to solve the corresponding (discretization of the) differential equation. …”
