    “…Objective:Explore the mechanism of regulating spleen and stomach moxibustion to improve protein energy wasting (PEW) in hemodialysis patients based on the changes of amino acid spectrum.Methods:A total of 30 hemodialysis patients with PEW were selected as PEW hemodialysis group, and then randomly divided into control group and spleen and stomach regulating group, with 15 cases in each group; A total of 15 healthy persons were selected as healthy group. The control group was treated with routine western medicine; the spleen and stomach regulating group was treated with Zusanli and Sanyinjiao moxibustion on the basis of the control group, twice a week, four weeks in each course, continuous treatment for three courses; The healthy group did not intervene.Ultra-high performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS) was used to detect 10 kinds of amino acids in plasma.The difference of amino acid profiles in hemodialysis patients before and after moxibustion was compared.Results:Arg, Cit, Gly, Pro of the PEW hemodialysis group were significantly higher than that of healthy group, with statistically significant differences (<italic>P</italic>&lt;0.05); Leu, Tyr and Val were significantly lower than that of healthy group, with statistically significant differences (<italic>P</italic>&lt;0.05). …”
