1H NMR-Based Metabolic Profiling of Urine from Mice Fed Lentinula edodes-Derived Polysaccharides by Xu Xiaofei, Yang Jiguo, Ning Zhengxiang, Zhang Xuewu

    Published 2018-09-01
“…In this study, 1H NMR spectroscopy approach was employed to investigate the metabolic profiles of the urine from adult mice after L2 intervention. Using principal component analysis (PCA) and partial least squares-discriminate analysis (PLS-DA), 22 potential biomarkers were found to be mainly involved in some metabolic pathways: amino acid metabolism, energy metabolism, lipid metabolism, tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, urea cycle and gut microbiota metabolism. …”

Estimating Kidney Function in the Critically Ill Patients by Gemma Seller-Pérez, Manuel E. Herrera-Gutiérrez, Javier Maynar-Moliner, José A. Sánchez-Izquierdo-Riera, Anibal Marinho, José Luis do Pico

    Published 2013-01-01
“…Efforts directed to stratify the risk of acute kidney injury (AKI) have crystallized in the RIFLE or AKIN systems, based in sequential changes in Crs or urine flow. These systems have provided a common definition of AKI and, due to their sensitivity, have meant a considerable advantage for the clinical practice but, on the other side, have introduced an uncertainty in clinical research because of potentially overestimating AKI incidence. …”

Spatiotemporal distribution patterns of cephalopods and their responses to changes in the marine environment in the coastal waters of Zhejiang, China by Jun Liang, Jun Liang, Yongdong Zhou, Yongdong Zhou, Tian Wu, Feng Chen, Feng Chen, Kaida Xu, Kaida Xu, Guangjie Fang, Yazhou Zhang, Yazhou Zhang

    Published 2025-01-01
“…IntroductionLike pelagic fishes, cephalopods represent fishery resources with high worldwide potential and an important evolutionary node animal group. Thus, exploring the spatial and seasonal variations in cephalopod distribution and their associations with environmental factors is important for elucidating cephalopod diversity and the distribution of cephalopods under changing environmental conditions and for developing reasonable resource management and conservation measures.MethodsOn the basis of trawl survey data from 123 stations in the coastal waters of Zhejiang, China, in the spring and autumn of 2021, the relationships among the cephalopod species composition and diversity characteristics and the spatial and seasonal changes and environmental factors were investigated via the relative importance index (IRI), the alpha diversity index, and the GAM.ResultsThe results revealed that the cephalopods in the coastal waters of Zhejiang belonged to three orders, six families, and 10 genera and that the dominant species were gradually replaced by species of minor economic importance and endemic small-scale fishery species. …”
