Shear Behavior of Reinforced Concrete Beams with Different Arrangements of Externally Bonded Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Polymer by Majid Faissal Jassim, Yousif Jabbar Lafta, Hawraa S. Malik

    Published 2023-01-01
“…Carbonfiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites are frequently utilized in the repair and reinforcement of reinforced concrete members because they are more corrosion-resistant, durable, and flexible than commonly used materials like steel plates. Many studies have demonstrated that the use of CFRP as an internal strengthening material has a substantial impact on the shear capacity of RC beams. …”

Static and Dynamic Characteristics of Steel-Concrete Composite Track Beam of Straddle Monorail with Cluster-Distributed Studs by Shuai Zhou, Peng Yu, Jianguo Nie

    Published 2022-01-01
“…The strain value of concrete slab is significantly larger than that of the upper edge of steel beam, so it is difficult to apply the plane-section assumption. (3) Compared with all the measured results of the track beam test, the results of the detailed shell-solid FEM model based on the load-slip curve obtained by push-out test are close to them, and the maximum error is 11.4% difference in stress. (4) Compared with the results obtained by the theoretical formula of the UDS, the results obtained by the theoretical formulas of the CDS based on a “correction coefficient of vertical bending stiffness” proposed in this paper show less deviation comparing to the measured results of the track beam test and are more resilient. …”

Short Cantilever Rock Beam Structure and Mechanism of Gob-Side Entry Retaining Roof in Reuse Period by Jingke Wu, Yun Dong, Jiarui Chen, Chunlei Zhang, Wei Yin, JiHua Zhang, Yongzhen Cheng

    Published 2020-01-01
“…A dynamic-equilibrium mechanical model of the main roof structure is presented and the formation mechanisms of different types of short cantilever rock beam structures are clarified. The following major conclusions are drawn: (1) Three types of short cantilever rock beam structures occur in the main roof of a gob-side entry retaining during the reuse period, namely, the “short cantilever-articulated rock beam” structure, “short cantilever step rock beam (type I)” structure, and “short cantilever step rock beam (type II)” structure. (2) The stability criterion for these three short cantilever rock beam structures was also determined; that is, when the sliding instability coefficient K ≥ 1, the short cantilever-articulated rock beam structure will form, and when the sliding instability coefficient K < 1, the short cantilever step rock beam (type I or II) will form. (3) The governing law for the thicknesses of the main roof, immediate roof, and coal seam of the short cantilever rock beam structure was clarified; namely, the K-value gradually increases with increases in the thickness of the coal seam, drops sharply and then decreases gradually with increases in the thickness of the main roof, and decreases slowly with increases in the thickness of the immediate roof. …”
