Effect of Elicitors as Stimulating Substances on Sensory Quality Traits in Color Sweet Bell Pepper (Capsicum annuum L. cv. Fascinato and Orangela) Grown under Greenhouse Conditions
Published 2018-12-01“…The principal component analysis (PCA), showed that the PC1 explained 81.02%, while PC2 explained 9.24% of the variance in the results. A strong correlation between varieties and treatments 2 (36 mM H2O2) and 4 (0.1 mM SA and 36 mM H2O2) with PC1 was observed. …”

scPharm: Identifying Pharmacological Subpopulations of Single Cells for Precision Medicine in Cancers
Published 2025-01-01“…Here, scPharm is introduced, a computational framework that integrates pharmacological profiles with scRNA‐seq data to identify pharmacological subpopulations of cells within a tumour and prioritize tailored drugs. scPharm uses the normalized enrichment scores (NESs) determined from gene set enrichment analysis to assess the distribution of cell identity genes in drug response‐determined gene lists. Based on the strong correlation between the NES and drug response at single‐cell resolution, scPharm successfully identified the sensitive subpopulations in ER‐positive and HER2‐positive human breast cancer tissues, revealed dynamic changes in the resistant subpopulation of human PC9 cells treated with erlotinib, and expanded its ability to a mouse model. …”

Regulatory logic of endogenous RNAi in silencing de novo genomic conflicts.
Published 2023-06-01“…Importantly, the impact of the endo-RNAi network on gene expression flips the convention for regulatory networks, since we observe strong derepression of targets of the youngest hpRNAs, but only mild effects on the targets of the oldest hpRNAs. …”

The Role of E-Cadherin in Maintaining the Barrier Function of Corneal Epithelium after Treatment with Cultured Autologous Oral Mucosa Epithelial Cell Sheet Grafts for Limbal Stem D...
Published 2016-01-01“…ZO-1, occludin, and Cnx43 were also strongly expressed in CAOMECS. E-cadherin and beta-catenin localization at the cell membrane was reduced in LSCD corneas, while CAOMECS-grafted corneas showed a restoration of E-cadherin and beta-catenin expression. …”

Adsorption of Bisphenol A on Peanut Shell Biochars: The Effects of Surfactants
Published 2019-01-01“…The results indicated that peanut shell biochars prepared at 300°C (BC300), 500°C (BC500), and 700°C (BC700) showed strong adsorption affinity for BPA, and the adsorption affinity of biochars increased with the increase of pyrolysis temperature. …”

The thermoelectric conversion efficiency problem: Insights from the electron gas thermodynamics close to a phase transition
Published 2025-02-01“…Our results show that driving the electronic system to the vicinity of a phase transition can indeed be an innovative route to strong efficiency enhancement, but at the cost of an extremely narrow temperature range for the use of such materials, which in turn precludes potential development for the desired wide range of thermoelectric energy conversion applications.…”

Dimensions of Rational Decision-Making during the Demographic Transition; Aranjuez (Spain) Revisited
Published 2015-03-01“…As expected, controls for the survival status of the previous-born child were important though they did not diminish appreciably the overall effect of the number of surviving offspring. This article offers strong proof for the existence of active decision-making during the demographic transition and applies a method to model these behaviors over the full reproductive history of the couple.…”

Spectrophotometric Determination of p-Nitrophenol under ENP Interference
Published 2021-01-01“…In this paper, a novel technique of spectrophotometric determination of p-nitrophenol (PNP) was developed under the interfering impact of nano-Fe(OH)3, widely distributed in the natural environment as a typical example of ENPs. Because of the strong absorption at the two characteristic peaks of PNP, namely, 317 nm and 400 nm, nano-Fe(OH)3 interfered with the colorimetric determination of PNP. …”
