An Analytical Step-by-Step Procedure to Derive the Flexural Response of RC Sections in Compression
Published 2013-01-01“…The constitutive laws of the materials include confinement effect on the concrete and postyielding behaviour of the steel reinforcement, which can be assumed to be softening behaviour for buckled reinforcing bars. The strength and curvature domains at the first yielding of the reinforcement in tension and at the ultimate state are derived in the form of analytical curves depending on the compression level; therefore, the role of a single parameter on the shape of these curves can easily be deduced. …”

Moving Bed Gasification of Low Rank Alaska Coal
Published 2012-01-01“…A nonslagging moving bed gasifier would have to be limited to an oxygen-coal ratio of 0.26 to operate below the ash softening temperature. Slagging moving bed gasifiers, not limited by operating temperature, could achieve carbon conversion efficiency of 99.5% at oxygen-coal ratio of 0.33. …”

Development of Foam Adhesive Remover for Aircraft Applications
Published 2024-12-01“…In the deep repair process of aircraft wing endplates, spoiler and other parts, the efficient removal of foam adhesive without damaging the aluminum alloy has been paid much attention in the field of aviation repair. In this study, the cured products of foam adhesive were analyzed using infrared spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis.Based on the swelling theory, dichloromethane was identified as the primary solvent for the adhesive remover.TiO2-modified SiO2 nanocapsules were introduced into dichloromethane as adsorbents and slow-release agents to reduce VOC emissions, extend the operating time of the adhesive remover, and improve its performance through mechanisms such as physical adsorption, physical isolation and slow release.Meanwhile, paraffin and polyethylene sheets were used as surface barriers, and Halox630 corrosion inhibitor was added to the formulation of the adhesive remover to effectively reduce the volatilization of the remover and the corrosion of the substrate. Results showed that the developed foam adhesive remover exhibited excellent degumming performance on residual foam adhesive on the surface of aluminum alloy, as well as outstanding softening and swelling effects on thermosetting adhesives.…”
