Numerical simulation of early-age shrinkage effects on RC member deflections and cracking development
Published 2016-07-01“…Shrinkage effects on short-term behavior of reinforced concrete elements are often neglected both in design code provisions and in numerical simulations. However, it is known that their influence on serviceability performance can be significant, especially in case of lightly-reinforced beams. …”

System Dynamics Simulation and Analysis of Water Resources Utilization in Longkou City,Shandong Province
Published 2021-01-01“…Based on system dynamics analysis method, this paper predicts and analyzes the comprehensive utilization and development of water resources in Longkou City,Shandong Province from 2019 to 2050 under four different scenarios. The results show that:①The water demand of Longkou City increases with the forecast time.In the forecast period, the average total water demands of Longkou City under the four scenarios are 13.726,15.078,11.307 and 13.944 billion m3,respectively.At the end of the forecast period (2050),the total water demands of Longkou City under the four scenarios are 18.392,24.271,15.975 and 22.468 billion m3 respectively;②The water shortage under different scenarios is different. The proportion of water shortage years in the forecast period is 91.18%,91.18%,50.00% and 67.65%,respectively.The average water shortage volume is 2.886,4.158,0.610 and 3.091 billion m3 respectively, and the average water shortage index is 0.209 6,0.258 9,0.175 3 and 0.282 9 respectively;③ Adhering to the concept of environmental protection and sustainable development,it is necessary to balance the water conservation and social and economic development in the future development of Longkou City.Through the analysis and comparison of the simulation results, the comprehensive development scenario is the best among all scenarios for resource exploitation and social and economic sustainable development.…”

Simulation on Water Diversion Regulation Effect in the Central Ditch of Hengqin New District,Zhuhai
Published 2023-01-01“…The tidal river network area of the Pearl River Delta uses the ebb-and-flow differences between tidal level of the outer river and water level of the inland river to divert clear water for regulation. This is an effective way to improve the water environment of the tidal river network. The central ditch of Hengqin New District is in the tidal river network area of the Pearl River Delta. To improve the water environment of the central ditch in Hengqin New District, this study builds a one-dimensional hydrodynamic mathematical model of water quality and investigates the hydrodynamic regulation scheme for improving the regional water environment. Then, the water exchange effects of the original regulation scheme and the optimized regulation scheme are calculated and analyzed. The simulation results show that the optimized regulation scheme increases the regional flow rate by 0.20 m/s,shortens the half-exchange period by 101.5 h,and increases the water exchange rate by a factor of 1.1,which demonstrates a great improvement effect on the regional water environment. The results can be used as a reference for the implementation of the water diversion regulation scheme in the tidal river network area.…”
