Robust reinforcement learning algorithm based on pigeon-inspired optimization by Mingying ZHANG, Bing HUA, Yuguang ZHANG, Haidong LI, Mohong ZHENG

    Published 2022-10-01
“…Reinforcement learning(RL) is an artificial intelligence algorithm with the advantages of clear calculation logic and easy expansion of the model.Through interacting with the environment and maximizing value functions on the premise of obtaining little or no prior information, RL can optimize the performance of strategies and effectively reduce the complexity caused by physical models .The RL algorithm based on strategy gradient has been successfully applied in many fields such as intelligent image recognition, robot control and path planning for automatic driving. However, the highly sampling-dependent characteristics of RL determine that the training process needs a large number of samples to converge, and the accuracy of decision making is easily affected by slight interference that does not match with the simulation environment.Especially when RL is applied to the control field, it is difficult to prove the stability of the algorithm because the convergence of the algorithm cannot be guaranteed.Considering that swarm intelligence algorithm can solve complex problems through group cooperation and has the characteristics of self-organization and strong stability, it is an effective way to be used for improving the stability of RL model. The pigeon-inspired optimization algorithm in swarm intelligence was combined to improve RL based on strategy gradient.A RL algorithm based on pigeon-inspired optimization was proposed to solve the strategy gradient in order to maximize long-term future rewards.Adaptive function of pigeon-inspired optimization algorithm and RL were combined to estimate the advantages and disadvantages of strategies, avoid solving into an infinite loop, and improve the stability of the algorithm.A nonlinear two-wheel inverted pendulum robot control system was selected for simulation verification. The simulation results show that the RL algorithm based on pigeon-inspired optimization can improve the robustness of the system, reduce the computational cost, and reduce the algorithm’s dependence on the sample database.…”

    Published 2020-01-01
“…The load spectrum of automotive chassis components is the key factor to analyze the fatigue, reliability and durability of components. However,it still needs further practice and direct verification in the process of extracting road load spectrum and the key link processing,as well as error evaluation, etc.Based on this, this paper takes a certain type of automobile steering knuckle as the research object, established rigid-flexible coupling multi-body dynamic simulation model of the whole vehicle, and calibrated it through the test site reinforced the road test, the error between the monitoring signal of the measured key points and the iterative simulation is less than 30%,which verifies the response accuracy of the vehicle multi-body model; The load spectrum of road surface strengthened by endurance test of real vehicle was collected, and the load spectrum of steering knuckle connection points was obtained by simulation decomposition using virtual iteration method; Take typical working conditions of stone road Cand washboard road as examples, the inertia release method was used to solve the time-domain strain field of steering knuckle by using the load spectrum of connection points as input excitation, and time-domain strain curves of monitoring points are obtained, the relative error of the analysis of measured signals is less than 20%,which meets the accuracy requirements of the subsequent use of the load spectrum. The results show that strain calibration method is a direct verification of the effect of virtual iteration load spectrum extraction, which proves the feasibility and accuracy of the load spectrum extraction technical route, and provides a reference for the development of automobile chassis parts and fatigue durability analysis and verification.…”

Gate Dispatching in Tidal River Network Areas Based on EFDC Model by ZHANG Xianguo, WANG Huipeng, HUANG Miansong, ZHENG Lei, LIU Xiaofang

    Published 2022-01-01
“…Hydrodynamic regulation is an important measure to control black and malodorous water bodies and create a good water environment and water ecology. For tidal river network areas, the key to the treatment of water environment problems is to control the hydrodynamics of gates and pumping stations to achieve running water circulation. This paper simulates the hydrodynamic dispatching of the water quality maintenance of the water system in the tidal river network area of Fuzhou.A hydrodynamic water quality model based on the Environmental Fluid Dynamics Code (EFDC) is constructed for the complex river network of Fuzhou to simulate the influence of gate and pump dispatching under different water quality goals and diversion conditions in the study area on changes in water quality of river channels.According to the simulations of the model,it is concluded that the use of tidal range for diversion can reduce the operation and maintenance costs but cannot maintain the water quality at an excellent level. The use of pumping stations for diversion can rapidly restore the water quality of river channels, but pumping stations in different locations can lead to different effects on the water quality, and thus adjustment is required according to the actual operation and maintenance goals. The simultaneous opening of the gates on the south side of the water system and the pumping stations can easily cause reciprocating flow of water in the central area of the river network and result in water body turbulence, which is not conducive to the restoration and maintenance of water quality. Therefore, they should not be opened at the same time during operation. The conclusions of this paper can provide references for the implementation of water quality maintenance and hydrodynamic control in tidal river network areas.…”
