Interleaved-LoRa Transmission Scheme for Satellite IoT by Jin LUO, Jiabao XIA, Yang BAI, Baoming BAI

    Published 2023-03-01
“…The transmission distance of satellite IoT is much further than terrestrial IoT, resulting in a signifi cant power loss on the transmission link. Thus the received signal power at a receiver will be signifi cantly lower.Combining a high-performance FEC coding and LoRa modulation with a signifi cant spreading factor enables reliable communication at very low signal-to-noise ratios. However, LoRa modulation dramatically decrease spectral effi ciency as the spreading factor increases. An interleaved LoRa transmission scheme that could achieved high spectral effi ciency with a low bit error rate (BER) was proposed.Firstly, a non-coherent soft demodulation algorithm was presented for LoRa and the corresponding performance comparison with the use of Turbo and LDPC codes. Then proposed a soft demodulation algorithm for interleaved-LoRa transmission.Simulation results showed that Turbo coded interleaved-LoRa system outperformed the uncoded system by about 4 dB at a BER=10-5, which was equivalently to a 55%~57% improvement on communication distance in free space.Furthermore, the spectral effi ciency was improved by approximately 23% compared to the existing Turbo-LoRa scheme.…”

Indoor dynamic environment lo calization algorithm based on transfer learning by Can LIU, Junna SHANG, Ruijiang LI, Keqiang YUE

    Published 2018-08-01
“…The accuracy of the traditional indoor fingerprint lo calization system is limited bymany factors, such as the density of the reference location node in the fingerprint database and the characteristics of the indoor environment. When the indoor environment changes dynami cally, the RSS fluctuates, and usually does notmeet the assumption of the same distribution. Therefore,it was difficult to obtain high-precision requirements for conventional fingerprint positioningmethod.Aiming at the problem that the traditional algorithm couldn’t locate accurately,an algorithm based on the indoor fingerprint database was designed and implemented. The algorithm adopted the idea ofmigration learning to embed different data sets into the latent feature space, and the adverse effects of environmental changes on the system weremitigated. The simulation results show that the average positioning error of this algorithm is 1.23m.…”

Low Orbit Satellite Internet of Things Transmission Technology Based on LoRa by Zehao LI, Jianpeng MA, Shun ZHANG, Xiao WEI, Jing ZHANG

    Published 2022-12-01
“…As an emerging wide area network technology, LoRa has the characteristics of low power consumption and wide coverage. It has very broad prospects in the field of internet of things applications. In recent years, it has been deployed in countless objects around the world. The advantages of wide coverage of low-orbit satellite networks make it an inevitable technology to achieve global coverage of massive internet of things.Firstly, the basic principles of LoRa technology were expounded. Then the problems existed after the LoRa technology was directly introduced into the low-orbit satellite IoT were analyzed. Finally, a set of LoRa transmission technology suitable for low-orbit satellite IoT was proposed, focused on solved the problem of LoRa frame synchronization under the condition of low-orbit long-distance low-power transmission, and the problem of LoRa demodulation caused by the high-speed movement of satellites due to the Doppler frequency off set.The simulation results showed that the proposed joint synchronization and frequency off set estimation algorithm could obviously improved the synchronization probability and transmission reliability of LoRa technology under the conditions of extremely low SNR and large Doppler frequency shift.…”
