Tamarind Seed Xyloglucans Promote Proliferation and Migration of Human Skin Cells through Internalization via Stimulation of Proproliferative Signal Transduction Pathways
Published 2013-01-01“…Two xyloglucans were extracted from T. indica seed with cold water (TSw) and copper complex precipitation (TSc). Both were analyzed in regard to composition and influence on cell viability, proliferation, cell cycle progression, migration, MAPK phosphorylation, and gene expression of human skin keratinocytes (NHEK and HaCaT) and fibroblasts (NHDF) in vitro. …”

A CACTA-like transposon in the Anthocyanidin synthase 1 (Ans-1) gene is responsible for apricot fruit colour in the raspberry (Rubus idaeus) cultivar 'Varnes'.
Published 2025-01-01“…PCR confirmed the presence in heterozygous form of the transposon in an unrelated, red-fruited cultivar 'Veten', indicating apricot fruit colour is recessive to red and that it may be widespread in raspberry germplasm, potentially explaining why apricot forms appear at regular intervals in modern raspberry breeding populations.…”

The Tensile Strength of Loess in Northwest China by Unconfined Penetration Test and the Distinct Element Simulation
Published 2021-01-01“…The experiment and numerical simulation results show the following: (1) the split angle (α) presents an exponential decrease with tensile strength (σt) and a linear decrease with internal friction angle (φ); (2) K that can be written as tan (2α + φ) is a coefficient to calculate tensile strength, which is equal to 2.00 for remolded loess and 1.50 for undisturbed loess; (3) the distinct element simulation shows that the resisting force by the UP test comes from both tensile stress and shear stress; (4) the tensile fractures and shear fractures appear at almost the same time when the tensile stress is approximately 70% of tensile strength.…”

Optimizing key parameters for grinding energy efficiency and modeling of particle size distribution in a stirred ball mill
Published 2025-01-01“…This study explores the impact of key operational parameters—grinding time, stirrer tip speed, solid concentration, and feed size—on grinding efficiency, evaluated using specific energy inputs, in stirred milling of Egyptian copper ore. The particle size distribution (PSD) of ground products was simulated using the Gates–Gaudin-Schuhmann model (GGS) and the Rosin-Rammler-Benne (RRB) function. …”
