“…This paper identifies five key deficiencies: (1) European regulations only partially address ethical imperatives set by international guidelines, thereby restricting the ethical mandate of relevant entities; (2) the role of research ethics committees is largely limited to pre-approval activities, reducing continuous oversight during trials; (3) GCP inspectors operate within a narrow scope regarding ethical oversight, which limits their ability to identify a broad range of unethical practices; (4) there is insufficient transparency and collaboration between RECs and regulators, specifically GCP inspectorates, leading to fragmented oversight; and (5) there is minimal integration of ethical findings into the marketing authorization decision process by entities such as clinical assessors and the CHMP. …”

“…The implementation of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has resulted in the imposition of over 300 fines since its inception in 2018.These fines include significant penalties for prominent companies like Google, which were penalized for their failure to provide transparent and comprehensible privacy policies.The GDPR, known as the strictest data protection laws in history, has made companies worldwide more cautious when offering cross-border services, particularly to the European Union.The regulation's territorial scope stipulates that it applies to any company providing services to EU citizens, irrespective of their location.This implies that companies worldwide, including domestic enterprises, are required to ensure compliance with GDPR in their privacy policies, especially those involved in international operations.To meet this requirement, an intelligent detection method was introduced.Machine learning and automation technologies were utilized to automatically extract privacy policies from online service companies.The policies were converted into a standardized format with a hierarchical structure.Through natural language processing, the privacy policies were classified, allowing for the identification of relevant GDPR concepts.In addition, a constructed GDPR taxonomy was used in the detection mechanism to identify any missing concepts as required by GDPR.This approach facilitated intelligent detection of GDPR-oriented privacy policy compliance, providing support to domestic enterprises while they provided cross-border services to EU users.Analysis of the corpus samples reveals the current situation that mainstream online service companies generally fail to meet GDPR compliance requirements.…”

“…The joint operation scheme of water projects compiled year by year in the Pearl River Basin comprehensively considers the current situation of flood control in the basin and the practical experience of dispatching and continuously expands the water projects included in the scope of joint operation,which optimizes and adjusts the existing dispatching modes of water projects.It has now become an important non-engineering measure for real-time flood control operation.In June 2022,the Pearl River Basin experienced a catastrophic flood,second only to the one in 1915.Under the guidance of the basin joint operation scheme of water projects,and based on the flood characteristics and flood control situation,the Longtan Reservoir plays a core role,jointly operated with various types of water projects such as the reservoirs in the main and tributary rivers,flood storage and detention areas,and floodgates.It coordinates the overall situation of the river basin and fully taps into the flood control and storage potentials of water projects,successfully dealing with the 2022 flood.This paper sorts out the application of the joint operation scheme of water projects during the flood period in 2022 and analyzes the application mode and dispatching effects of the joint operation of water projects under different water inflow situations.Then,the deficiencies of the flood control joint operation scheme of water projects exposed during the flood period are summarized.Discussions are made on the optimization space of flood control operation mode of water projects with the Longtan as the core.Finally,the countermeasures and suggestions for the further improvement of the joint operation scheme of the Pearl River Water Project are proposed.…”
